Happy new year!
Another year has gone by, and it's time to take stock of what has been. Also make plans for 2025.
Somehow 2024 wasn't actually as shit as 2023, and yet it certainly has had its downturns. I'd chalk it up me gradually achieving a more holistic way of dealing with things, and having a more proactive mindset. The truth is, despite a lot of things being really really bad, I'm actually quite happy with the things in my life, that matter the very most to me.
As for musical goals and achievements, it's been a mixed bag.
I had set 4 primary goals for myself:
"1st finish studio." - Pretty much a succes, I do need to build some bass traps, and I've kinda been putting that off.
"2nd 25 videos, any relevant content." - Failed, succesfully? 19 videos, all jams. It's pretty close to the goal, and 2 of the videos actually contain 3 jams each, bringing my total no. of jams to 23. This is major progress for me.
"3rd finish 5 fully produced tracks." - Epic fail. Didn't finish a single fully produced track. I did get some solid work in, and have definitely evolved. Several jams got close to fully produced quality, and I find myself going back and really enjoying listening to some of them. Not something that comes easily for me with my own music.
"4th getting some of my music properly published." - Failed. I am still looking into options, and got a lot smarter on the subject, but ultimately failed to decide and take action.
"Stretch goal: Live performance." - Failed. Well, it was still a longshot.
Put that way, it seems pretty negative, but I'm actually feeling pretty good about what I achieved. My biggest failure is probably, that my goals for 2025 are, pretty much, the exact same as for 2024.
1st Finish studio (i.e. make bass traps and tidy up).
2nd Create and upload 25 videos of relevant material.
3rd Finish 5 fully produced tracks.
4th 1 hour Circuit Rhythm live performance.
5th Get some music published.
Stretch goal: Play live concert.
So here's to a new year of musical conquest.
