Hello one and all! It’s been a while. Balancing IRL stuff and internet hobbies doesn’t always end up as I would like, but it is what it is.

Arcane stuff is currently on hold. New videos are coming eventually, scripts are being made, my goal is to be done with the first season by the time season 2 rolls around next year.

In the meantime, I have been working on a different project. People have been asking me for more scornful critiques, as well as whether I’ll ever talk about something decidedly Finnish. Well, it just so happens that there was a major piece of fiction released this year by a Finnish studio. It’s being praised to high heaven, slated to win awards… Which is baffling to me, because it was one of the most disastrous experiences I have ever suffered through and embodies everything that’s wrong with entertainment industry in our current era. There is not a single honest full critique of this product as of yet, so I’ll be blazing that trail, and being the contrarian.

I’ve collected the footage I need and scripting is advancing fast. Judging from past experience, the video will end up being at least two hours long. I would like to be done with the script by the end of November, so that I can get to recording voiceover and actually editing across December, with a big fat video hopefully done early January. I won’t promise anything absolute until I’m certain I can deliver.

Hi-Fi Rush is a blast! Tight gameplay, fun cast, amazing presentation. It’s one of the most awesome rule-of-cool things I’ve ever experienced. A spectacle fighter combined with a rhythm game. And I’m only about halfway through as of writing this, but I can’t imagine any way this can nosedive in the latter half. This is definitely one of my new favorite games.

Check out the trailer, and if it seems at all like something you’d enjoy, I fully recommend picking this up. Buy it, so that we get more stuff like this in the future! And it’s available on Xbox game pass, so definitely give it a go if you have it. Other than that, the 30€ asking price is a steal for this amount of excellent gameplay. It’s a full-length hack 'n slash game, AAA quality, at bargain price!

If this doesn’t sweep the accolades this year across the shill media, then… well, par for the course, I guess.

Aside from that, there’s actually some neat writing stuff to discuss with the game. It’s a silly action comedy anime romp, nothing too deep or complex. But notably for me, the character interactions are charming, and the comedy is actually fantastic.

So, just tossing this in the air, would you guys be interested in some kind of video about the game? No idea how long. Could be ten minutes, could be an hour, depends how engrossed I get into gushing. Nor can I promise when. I'll get typing a script, and it'll be done when it's done.

Here it is! The whole thing! 11+ hours of me being continuously baffled by the utter ineptitude of the legendary High Guardian Spice. Stabled together for your viewing convenience and (dis)pleasure.

If you’ve already seen the entire saga, not much has changed. I ironed out a couple of editing mistakes and objective fuck ups (insert a joke about how Raye bitches about criticism and refuses to take responsibility while I go back and fix things to offer the best product I can with my limited skill).

That being said, whether this is all new to you, or you wish to re-view this review (ba-dam-tiss), this is the definitive way to view it.

Also, aside from the ten minute intro, there is in fact about three minutes of brand new content scattered across the 11 hours. Bragging rights to anyone who’s able to notice them!

I woke up to this sound; a silence that once again allows my mind run around…

After a loooong year, I’m finally finished with this mammoth-sized mess! I’ll post the final part of HGS critique tomorrow. Thank you everyone for keeping me company along this ridiculous journey. It’s been fun, but I’m glad to be done. Hopefully each of you have gotten something out of it.

As for the future, people have already been asking what I’ll tackle next. I’ll keep you guys in suspense a tad longer, but let’s just say the next show I’ll be covering is of far greater quality than HGS (not a high bar, but you get what I mean). All will be revealed in the upcoming video, so stick around till the end if you’re interested.
