Sandra Suubi is a Ugandan based artist with a voice to inspire, give hope and positive energy. She is the power house who brings the house down with her vocals. As one journalist wrote “When Sandra Suubi starts to sing we all got goose pumps”. She is a vocalist whose experimentation with different genres of music has resulted into songs such as African woman, Amazing love, Togwamu Suubi, Nsimmye, Ojagande nyo, Tuligibwa, the beat and others off her album Anthems Of life

Did you know that; ‘It was Caetano Gomes, the younger brother of Anton Gloria Gomes who later in 1914 designed a yoke with a square neck for the Ssuka. The adjusted attire was named Gomesi after its designer ‘Gomes’ who went on to incorporate features of the Victorian and Edwardian era women’s outfits which included puffed sleeves and aspects of the female Indian attire – the ‘Sari’. A sash was added for the waist to “accentuate the feminine figure”.
