The Biggest Myth in Middle Eastern Languages: Persian ≠ Arabic! 🌍✏️
Take a look at today's Academic Ink sketch-note! If you’ve ever hesitated to learn Persian (Farsi) because you thought it had the exact same complex grammar rules as Arabic, I have great news for you.
While they share a similar script (just like English and Vietnamese both use the Latin alphabet), their linguistic DNA is completely different:
1️⃣ Origins: Persian is an Indo-European language (related to English!), while Arabic is Semitic.
2️⃣ Grammar: Persian has NO grammatical gender and a relatively simple Subject-Object-Verb (SOV) structure.
3️⃣ Vocabulary: While Persian has borrowed words from Arabic over the centuries, the core vocabulary and root systems function entirely differently.
Don't let the alphabet fool you! Persian is incredibly logical and highly rewarding to learn.
