If you ask me, there is one singular technique that, if you learn how to do it effectively, will put more catfish in the boat than any other. I got to talk with the Kansas blue cat state record holder, Daniel Mayer, where he shares how he used that very technique to land a 121 lb catfish! I hope you enjoy it. We had a pile of fun!

When it comes to building boats, Chris Simmons from @TinyBoatNation approaches it in a practical, straight forward, and entertaining kind of way. He might even be full of more crap than I am. We had a good time shooting the breeze about the best things to do to a boat, the worst things to do to a boat, and the satisfaction of fishing out of a tin rig that you don't have to cash your retirement in to afford. Not many people spend as much time on the water as a fishing guide, so whenever I get the chance to pick their brain, I take advantage. Ryan and I talked with Capt. Aaron Jarrell. The dude not only puts clients on biggin's, but consistently lands in the money when he hops in a tournament. On top of that, he's a lot of fun to hang out with. I got to take a deep dive into the thought process and procedures of catching a state record with a couple guys who have actually done it. BJ caught his off the bank, and Micka caught a record, and then beat his own record less than a year later! These guys don't hold anything back and we have a great conversation!
