John Alite had his first appearance today before Judge Vincenzo Stampone in New Jersey Superior Court and is still being held without bail. His next court appearance will be on Wednesday 6/24/2026 at 130pm before Judge Imre Karaszegi Jr and is a Pretrial Detention Hearing. This hearing will determine if John Alite gets a Bond or if he will stay in Jail without bond. I would suspect he will get some sort of bond but it could be very high. We will let you know what happens after the 130pm Pretrial Detention Hearing.

MORE BREAKING NEWS - JOHN ALITE FACING ADDITIONAL CHARGES DUE TO STEROIDS.
Just found out this morning, The criminal complaints against Alite do not detail all 10 criminal charges he faces. But the complaints provide details for the weapon possession charge and a drug charge for possessing Anavar, an anabolic steroid.
Police said they found the steroid pills in an unmarked plastic baggie in his nightstand and no prescription for the drug was found, the complaint said.
Here is the full article:
By Kevin Shea | NJ.com
Englishtown councilman John Alite — the former mafia hitman arrested Friday on loansharking and extortion charges — had several weapons in his home that investigators believe he would use to collect debts, the charges against him say.
He specifically threatened to take a baseball bat to the head of one person, a police investigator alleged in a criminal complaint filed with the charges.
When the New Jersey State Police arrested Alite at his home Friday, troopers said they found six baseball bats, metal knuckles, an expandable baton and two slapjacks, which are weighted striking weapons that usually include leather pouches filled with lead shot.
Police also found “approximately two dozen switchblade knives and other types of knives, without any explainable lawful purpose,” the charges say.
One bat was next to the front door, the other five were in Alite’s kitchen, investigators said. The knives were in a bedroom.
The items are relevant to the case, state police Detective Sgt. Michael Gallant wrote, because Alite threatened violence in the collection of debts owed to him. Alite “threatened to hit an individual with a baseball bat across his head, and indicated that he has ‘gut’ people like ‘fish,’ amongst other threats,” the charges say.
Alite also sought the addresses of the victims of his loansharking loans, police allege. He “indicated his intention to see them in person over the loan,” court papers say.
The state Attorney General’s office announced Alite’s arrest Friday evening on extortion, loansharking and terroristic threat charges. They accused him of making loans at excessive rates and threatening violence to obtain property and money from victims.
The 63-year-old is also accused of using his company, Straightened-Out Entertainment, Inc., to promote his criminal scheme, Attorney General Jennifer Davenport said in a statement.
A second man, Stephen Locrotondo, 67, of Bridgewater, who served prison time for check fraud in 2012, was also arrested. He is also charged with usury — the legal term for loansharking — and conspiracy for allegedly agreeing to receive interest on loans in excess of the maximum rate permitted by law, the attorney general’s office said.
Alite is a former Gambino crime family hitman who was once John Gotti Jr.’s best friend, right-hand man and primary enforcer in the New York City crime family, prosecutors said at the time.
In a 2025 interview with NJ.com, Alite admitted he committed six murders and 30 to 40 shootings during his years working in organized crime and drug trafficking.
Alite served prison time after testifying against Gambino mobsters.
He then left the mafia life, he’s said, and settled into the small Monmouth County borough of Englishtown, where he was named to fill a council seat last year.
His attorney, Douglas C. Anton, said he’s confident his client will be exonerated very soon. “John has lived a law abiding life since leaving behind ‘that’ life almost two decades ago,” Anton said via email on Saturday.
The criminal complaints against Alite do not detail all 10 criminal charges he faces. But the complaints provide details for the weapon possession charge and a drug charge for possessing Anavar, an anabolic steroid.
Police said they found the steroid pills in an unmarked plastic baggie in his nightstand and no prescription for the drug was found, the complaint said.

WHY JOHN ALITE MIGHT NOT GET BAIL.... AT LEAST FOR NOW
What detectives say they found when they searched his house will matter a lot at any detention or bail hearing. According to court documents quoted in the latest reporting, New Jersey State Police recovered an arsenal: two slapjacks, metal knuckles, an expandable baton, six baseball bats, and roughly two dozen switchblade knives and other blades. Combine that with his own alleged threats about using a bat and “gutting” people, and you can see why there’s already talk that the state may push hard to keep him locked up before trial—and why you’re hearing chatter that he may not be getting bail, even though the formal decision hasn’t been spelled out in the public record yet.

“Who Is Stephen Locrotondo? The Man Standing Next to John Alite in the Loan‑Sharking Case”
As we all digest the news about Englishtown councilman and ex‑Gambino enforcer John Alite getting arrested on state loan‑sharking charges, it’s important to look at the other name in the complaint: Stephen Locrotondo of Bridgewater, New Jersey.
This isn’t Locrotondo’s first time in serious trouble.
According to federal and state records, he was a key player in a multimillion‑dollar insurance fraud scheme in the 2000s, alongside a man named Edward Dombrowski.
Prosecutors say Dombrowski and Locrotondo developed and marketed fake group life insurance policies to the City of Linden and several New Jersey unions, claiming municipal workers and union members would get “free” life insurance funded by a premium finance company. In reality, no policies were ever bound.
They allegedly duped a financing company into wiring about $15 million to fund these non‑existent policies, then diverted the money – including nearly $2 million Dombrowski used on real estate, stock, and luxury cars.
Locrotondo later pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of wire fraud and one count of wire fraud conspiracy for his role in the scheme.
On top of that, state authorities say he went on to write a $100,000 bad check, was convicted of second‑degree issuing a bad check by a Union County jury, and faced a possible five to ten years in state prison on that charge alone.
Fast forward to 2026: the New Jersey Attorney General now says Locrotondo, at 67, is back in the frame—this time accused of usury and conspiracy, allegedly agreeing to receive illegal high‑interest payments in coordination with John Alite in a loan‑sharking scheme.
So when you see his name next to Alite’s in this new case, understand you’re not looking at a clean co‑signer who just got swept up. You’re looking at someone with a documented history of large‑scale financial fraud, sham insurance products, and seven‑figure losses, now alleged to be back in the game on a different kind of racket.
I’ll be watching how Locrotondo’s past plays into this new prosecution—and how prosecutors frame the partnership between a former Gambino enforcer turned councilman and a convicted insurance fraudster out of Bridgewater.

Gene Borrello had court today and his defense attorney has been granted a continuance so the next felony sounding conference will be on 8/13/2026 with a trial now scheduled for 8/31/2026. This is typical to get at least one or two continuances on these felony sounding conferences.

This is nuts. A longtime mafia thug who compared himself to notorious Depression-era gangster John Dillinger sent one of his extortion victims a screenshot of his face on a “Mob Facts” website to prove he meant business.
Joseph Cutaia, 47, grandson of the late Lucchese capo Domenico Cutaia, sent his mob bio to a business owner he was shaking down on Dec. 2023, shortly after his release from prison in a home invasion robbery case, according to court filings.
“Lucchese Crime family Associate Joseph Cutaia (T-L) Son of Soldier Salvatore (B-R) & Grandson of deceased Various Crew CAPO Domenico (B-L) has been released from Prison. Speculated to be a future force to be reckoned with,” the bio reads, according to the feds.
Cutaia, who was indicted on the extortion charges in 2024, has since pleaded guilty, and is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday in Brooklyn Federal Court.
