THE BREADWINNER (2026) - Movie Review

A movie so good that they had to make tickets prices for the entire day for this movie and this movie only matinee prices just so people would go see it.

Let me ask you something. You ever think to yourself am I an idiot? Like you question if you are a complete and total dumbass. But then you think to yourself and realize yeah, but that person exist. That was my complete mindset when I was watching 2026's The Breadwinner starring Nate Bargatze. Next to the recent Animal Farm movie, this had to be one of the longest 90 minutes I've sat through in recent memory.

Holy fuck, I could not stand Nate Bargatze character... Nate, in this movie. He is beyond ret*rded that there is actually a scene where he's supposed to make toast but he thinks the toaster is broken, even though, it's not plugged in. So his stupid fucking ass puts 3 pieces of bread on a gas stove, no pan or nothing, and burns the toast. This man is going to either kill somebody or get someone killed, he is that fucking brain dead. How he has a job at a car dealership, I don't know. The only time I actually had any sympathy or agreed with this dude was when he had to tell his one daughter and her friends that no body gives a rats flying fuck about spelling bee's.

And dear God is this movie painfully and agonizingly not funny. To keep it short and simple, it's white people humor, which I cannot stand for the life of me. Some of the shit my audience laughed at in the movie was just baffling. The little girl gets a horse and I swear I actually heard some go "Ha! Ha! Horse". I may have given up on humanity a long time ago, but that just made it worse. Honestly, all I could think while watching this movie was that the audience I saw this with would be shocked to their soul watching 'Scary Movie 6'. It's also a giant ad for 'Shark Tank', Toyota, and at one point, Walmart of all things. If you know me, you know.

I saw some interviews where Nate Bargatze said he wanted to makes this kind of like an old school comedy about taking care of the kids. Dude, 'Mr. Mom' came out 30-years ago and was written by 80s John Hughes. You're not 80s John Hughes and 'The Breadwinner' is not 'Mr. Mom'.

This is easily one of the worst movies of the year so far. If you want a real comedy, go see 'Scary Movie 6' this coming weekend. Hell, you want a great movie called 'The Breadwinner', check out the indie animated movie from Cartoon Saloon.
