Last night we camped at Neches Bluff in the Davy Crockett National Forest… and it reminded me why we do this. 🌲🔥
There’s something about East Texas at night that just hits different. The wind moving through the pines. The sound of the Neches River below the bluff. No traffic. No noise. Just darkness and stars stretching over the treetops.
We pulled in right before sunset, set up camp, and watched the sky fade from gold to deep blue. By 10pm it was quiet in a way you can’t explain unless you’ve felt it. Just us, the fire, and miles of forest in every direction.
It’s easy to forget how healing it is to unplug. No distractions. No rush. Just slowing down long enough to actually hear the woods breathe.
East Texas doesn’t get enough credit. But nights like this? They’re special.
