Today is Yawm-ul-‘Arafah, one of the greatest days of the entire year. It is the day on which Allah’s mercy descends in abundance, sins are forgiven, and countless prayers are accepted.

The Holy Prophet ﷺ said:

“There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah.” (Sahih Muslim)

This is a day to increase in:
• Du’a
• Istighfar
• Durood upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ
• Quran recitation
• Tahmid, Takbir and Tahlil
(Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah)

The Holy Prophet ﷺ also taught:

“The best du’a is the du’a of the Day of ‘Arafah, and the best thing I and the Prophets before me have said is:

‎لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.

‘There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, He has no partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He has power over all things.’” (Tirmidhi)

Today, ask Allah for everything. Guidance, forgiveness, money, righteous children, acceptance of prayers, closeness to the Quran, and goodness in this life and the next.

Ask Allah for the impossible!

​حضرت اقدس مسیح موعود علیہ السلام فرماتے ہیں:
”اس نسخہ کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھو اور اس سے فائدہ اٹھاؤ کہ جب کوئی دکھ یا مصیبت پیش آوے تو فوراً نماز میں کھڑے ہو جاؤ اور جو مصائب اور مشکلات ہوں ان کو کھول کھول کر اللہ تعالیٰ کے حضور عرض کرو کیونکہ یقیناً خدا ہے اور وہی ہے جو ہر قسم کی مشکلات اور مصائب سے انسان کو نکالتا ہے۔ وہ پکارنے والے کی پکار کو سنتا ہے۔ اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جو مددگار ہو سکے۔ بہت ہی ناقص ہیں وہ لوگ کہ جب ان کو مشکلات پیش آتی ہیں تو وہ وکیل، طبیب یا ان لوگوں کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہیں۔ مگر خدا تعالیٰ کا خانہ بالکل خالی چھوڑ دیتے ہیں۔ مومن وہ ہے جو سب سے اول خدا تعالیٰ کی طرف دوڑے۔“

​The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) states:
"Always remember this prescription and benefit from it: whenever any grief or misfortune befalls you, immediately stand up for prayer (Salat). Lay out your troubles and difficulties clearly before Allah the Almighty, for surely God exists, and He alone is the One who delivers man from all kinds of hardships and calamities. He hears the call of the one who calls upon Him. There is no helper besides Him. Very deficient are those people who, when faced with difficulties, turn to lawyers, physicians, or such people, but leave the house of God Almighty completely empty. A believer is one who runs toward God Almighty first of all."
