Before one of his fights, Mike Tyson intentionally stayed awake for almost 24 hours because he believed being tired made him more dangerous.

Tyson said when he was exhausted, he stopped thinking like a normal person and became more violent and emotional in the ring.

Most fighters want perfect sleep before a fight.
Tyson wanted to feel mentally unstable.

That’s part of why opponents said his aura felt terrifying before the bell even rang.

In 1974, before fighting George Foreman, Muhammad Ali secretly asked his team to prepare a fake excuse in case he got destroyed.

Ali knew Foreman was terrifying.
The man had brutally knocked out Joe Frazier and Ken Norton — the same guys who gave Ali nightmares.

So before the fight, Ali reportedly told his camp that if he lost badly, they should say he was poisoned before the fight.

Then… he walked into the ring and invented the “Rope-a-Dope,” surviving Foreman’s punches and knocking out the most feared heavyweight alive.

That’s what makes the story insane.

Even Ali himself wasn’t fully sure he could survive it.
