Happy "Interview With the Vampire" day to all that celebrate! 🦇⚰️
I for one can't wait to watch Lestat's journey in all his decadence and glamour.
I'll wait for most episodes to drop, maybe even the entire season before putting my thoughts out there, but I'm pretty positive there will be more than enough to create at least one new video 👀
I've been working on a ridiculous number of projects at the same time lately, which means there should be quite a few new videos coming your way soon following the Female Rage essay which was published this week 🎉
One of them will be the next installment in my exploration of Asian BLs, focusing on Thai series. I know it's a bit outside the main focus of the channel (and the views usually remind me of that 😅), but the response to the first video was so overwhelmingly positive that I genuinely wanted to continue the conversation.
At the end of the day, I've always tried to follow a very simple formula:
Interesting + what you all want to see (feedback is queen 👑) = it gets done.
I've also been trying to streamline my workflow a bit. It's easier said than done when every essay involves a frankly unreasonable amount of writing, research, note-taking, and editing. Sometimes I wonder whether people notice how much time goes into tracking down the exact film or TV clip that illustrates a particular argument or idea, instead of just having a continous stream of unrelated clips going on in the background...
So yes: lots of essays on the way, a few topics I haven't tackled before, and also a more casual video where I'll be going through my personal physical media collection, which should be a nice change of pace 🤞
As always, thank you for watching, commenting, and constantly giving me new things to think about 💜
unfortunately, more and more lately I see AI slop or clearly AI written and edited videos in my YouTube recommendations. How about you?
I just wanted to specify - although I think it's quite obvious to anyone really - that this IS and WILL REMAIN an AI free channel. From writing and researching, to editing the video itself or the thumbnails - which I still do myself (badly, but that's another matter) with Photoshop, everything is curated entirely by me from A to Z 💪
I hope everyone will still appreciate the very human work behind each one of these videos. Although this may mean less quantity or perhaps even less immediate aesthetic effect, I hope the care and genuineness of Seriesable will make up for those "flaws" in everyone that likes and follows this channel 💜
It's about female rage on screen—not just as revenge, breakdown, or a "girlboss" moment, but as something much bigger: a narrative force that film and television have historically tried to pathologize, punish, soften, or contain.
Many shows and films in this: Yellowjackets, Ready or Not, How to Get Away with Murder, 10 things I hate about you, Promising Young Woman, Jennifer's Body, Hereditary, Gone Girl, The Menu, Midsommar, Mad Men, Sharp Objects, The Office, Send Help and quite a few others...
Why are angry men allowed to be tragic, heroic, and complex, while angry women so often become monsters, unstable, or cautionary tales?
And are recent "good for her" narratives actually changing anything?
If you’re in the mood for something soft, thoughtful, and a little introspective 🌸
Yesterday I uploaded a video about the *magic* of Japanese boys love (BL) dramas - what makes them feel so intimate and emotionally resonant compared to other romance storytelling.
It’s a bit different from what I usually cover, but it’s a deep dive into something I genuinely find fascinating - and even if you’ve never watched a Japanese BL, I think you’ll still find it interesting. Go give it a try and let me know what you think 💜
I'm personally tired of #Severance video focused on outlandish theories - they're either all the same or don't add anything to the experience of watching the show. I've been working on this deep analysis for months now and hopefully it will be something different from what you've already seen or heard about the show.
Here's a cheeky one liner idea for what each chapter focuses on:
0:31–6:00 – Chapter 1: The Role of Emotions Emotions aren’t a glitch — they’re the code
6:01–9:19 – Chapter 2: The Ultimate Anesthetic Comfort is the cage - Work hard, stay numb
9:20–11:46 – Chapter 3: The Role of Colors Fifty shades of corporate gray
11:47–18:18 – Chapter 4: The Ego and the Shadow(s) What if your worst self wasn’t hidden — but hired?
18:19–23:20 – Chapter 5: Non-People You’re not fired — you were never really hired
23:21–28:21 – Chapter 6: Thresholds and Non-Places Welcome to Nowhere, population: you
28:22–34:25 – Chapter 7: Revolutions of Self Freedom begins with a flicker
I sometimes get comments asking me to make some "recommendations" type of videos, or videos that are a bit more informal. Would you be interested to see a video ranking EVERYTHING I've watched in 2024 (spoiler: it's a lot) with some quick one-liner reviews?

So… remember when Dawn just showed up one day and everyone pretended she’d always been there?
Yeah, turns out that might be one of the most brilliant thing Buffy the Vampire Slayer ever did.
My new video essay digs into how that weird plot twist actually completes Buffy’s whole journey.
⬇️Watch it here before Glory smites me and let me know your thoughts! 🤪
