Deep in the countryside I set out on a mission to track down the abandoned Hathazari Air Base ruins and walk the old runway at Feni Airfield—once used by Allied bombers flying missions against Japanese forces in Burma during World War II.

Most people have no idea these places even exist. Today, nature has reclaimed much of these historic sites, making them one of Bangladesh’s most overlooked pieces of history that deserves way more attention than what it gets at the moment.

The military presence was everywhere, but the number of selfies I took with soldiers was even higher🙂‍↕️

On the very edge of China's border to Myanmar lies the city of Ruilli. A city few people have heard of yet millions of dollars worth of jade pass through here every single year. The chinese jade trade that stems from the mines in Myanmar is a highly sensitive topic with lots of shady activities revolving the industry. Some people refer to the jade as 'blood jade' due to the horrific cicumstances many locals in Myanmar sadly face working in those mines.

So I went there to investigate the industry myself and not only did I get an insight into this bizarre business, I also met and was invited into a jade business by the very owner himself who showed me everything this industry had to offer💎

It's safe to say that this is one hell of an episode...🔥

I kept hearing the same thing when hitchhiking The Philippines. This is very unusual. You won’t get anywhere with that. Yes agreed, it’s unusual but that’s also the point. Heading the unusual way is often where you will get the most genuine and real encounters. Today’s video is exactly about that.
