It's literally the same thing that you have the same ship with 2 different people!! Why am I saying this?? So there's a big reason!! Like have you noticed how other communities don't have the same ship with different people but we do?! It feels so wrong just by hearing that a person has the same ship with 2 different people. I have met many people who have faced this and how miserable they feel. Because imagine having a ship with your no. 1 person and that person sharing the same ship with a person whom you don't even know. If a ship is supposed to feel special, then repeating the exact same ship with multiple people removes the uniqueness of it. At that point it starts feeling copy pasted instead of genuine. Please stop this shitty thing at this point it feels so cheap.
people say “it’s not that deep” but for many fandom users ships are connected to comfort, attachment and emotional value. You can’t decide what is “deep” for someone else. Imagine thinking your ship dynamic is something personal between you two, then finding out the other person acts the exact same way with someone else. Of course that would hurt. Having different idols in the ship doesn’t suddenly make it different. The main point is still the same dynamic being repeated with multiple people. Some people treat ships like collectibles instead of emotional bonds. That’s why so many friendships in fandoms feel temporary now. Many people stay silent about this because they don’t want to sound “jealous” or “dramatic,” but deep down they still feel uncomfortable seeing their special bond duplicated. Ships became so normalized that people forgot why they were fun in the first place: because they felt unique and personal between two people. People don’t realize how replaceable someone can feel after seeing the same ship repeated with another person. People normalized emotional carelessness and now people act surprised when others get hurt over things like this.
We shouldn't be normalising things like this cuz sometimes a ship can be a HOME for a person.
