Title: The LEGO® Movie Videogame
Completion time: x hours

Everything is in fact NOT awesome...

If you’ve followed my reviews for a while, you’ll know I’ve played plenty of LEGO titles - enough to know what the series is capable of. That’s why The LEGO Movie Videogame feels so underwhelming.

Despite being based on the wildly creative movie of the same name, this 12-year-old movie tie-in lacks basic feature parity with other entries in the franchise. There’s no proper level select hub, no sub-chapter selection for cleaning up collectibles, and several frustrating, game-breaking bugs that disrupt progression.

What’s left is a surprisingly barebones experience: uninspired levels, simplistic puzzles, and a gameplay loop that grows stale far too quickly. While it captures some of the film’s charm through voice lines and faithful environments, it ultimately feels stripped back and poorly polished compared to stronger LEGO games.

Title: The Wolf Among Us
Completion time: x hours

Revisiting The Wolf Among Us for a second time only reinforced how exceptional its storyline really is. The gritty reimagining of the fables universe, the sharp dialogue, and the constant moral tension make it one of Telltale Games’ strongest works. It left me more eager than ever for The Wolf Among Us 2 (if it ever comes out), especially with so many unresolved threads and room for Bigby’s story to evolve.

While newer narrative-driven titles like Dispatch help scratch that choice-based itch, there’s still nothing quite like the atmosphere and direction this game delivered. Telltale were onto something genuinely special here and I can only hope the sequel builds on that foundation rather than losing what made the original so memorable.

Title: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Completion time: x hours

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a title that passed me by in its original release, but thanks to its modern remaster, I finally had the chance to experience it with fresh eyes.

The game’s vehicular combat is a clear highlight, capturing the chaotic, large-scale battles typical of its era and standing as its most enjoyable component. On-foot combat, however, is noticeably weaker; despite Pandemic’s pedigree with the Battlefront series, that expertise doesn’t fully carry over here. That said, with so little time spent playing as a Jedi, this shortcoming rarely undermines the overall experience.

Some challenging boss battles and the side missions made it a well rounded experience and rather enjoyable overall.

Title: Goat Simulator 3
Completion time: x hours

Goat Simulator 3 is a confident evolution of the original, expanding its open world and doubling down on inventive Easter eggs while preserving the series’ familiar, accessible mechanics.

However, its main shortcoming lies in the trinkets, ramps, and the instinct system, which rely heavily on uninspired collectibles. Rather than rewarding exploration, these elements often feel like padding, adding little satisfaction to an otherwise entertaining experience.

Title: Deliver Us The Moon
Completion time: 9 hours

A relatively simple game with a dark twist.

The game is easy enough to play through for the story component; however, some puzzles give you very little guidance and no hints - as such you're left pulling up a guide, breaking immersion.

This is similarly the case with some trophies being so well hidden and hard to find that you have no option but to watch a tutorial to know where to go and what to do.

Title: One Night Stand
Completion time: 1 hour

I'm not the biggest fan of visual novel type games; and this one was a core example; simplistic (yet ambiguous) storyline with 1 core setting and repeated dialogue even with your varied selections.

At least it was an easy platinum.

Title: PowerWash Simulator 2
Completion time: 53 hours

Another platinum which was polished of by my fiancé! She absolutely loves the therapeutic nature of the game and enjoyed this much more than the first game (I did some cleaning, and was on the couch for 70%).

The additional tools made this a dream and the removal of challenges made the platinum a breeze.

Title: PowerWash Simulator
Completion time: 77 hours

This is one of the first platinum's in my collection where I did less than 50% of the work required to actually complete the game. That credit goes to my fiancé.

That being said, this game was really enjoyable right up until the final level and the challenge missions which were an absolute pain for the both of us.

(Time also includes additional bonus levels and DLC)

Title: Sleepin' Deeply
Completion time: 2 hours

Sleepin' Deeply much like its predecessor is a game of minigames which sounds okay in its premise - although is poorly lacking in execution as each stage scales variably in difficulty and has no common theme of how to solve it resulting in the need for a guided walkthrough to understand how to complete certain sections.

While the gameplay is rather simple, the controls feel unresponsive and sluggish (particularly the jumping mechanic) which is particularly annoying given that the game relies heavily on this mechanic.

Overall an okay game and a quick platinum - but definitely not an enjoyable experience.
