Currently, Dr Goswami is the Founding Director of the UP State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) in the rank of Additional Director General of Police.

Earlier he has served as the Chief of Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) of the State of Uttar Pradesh (UP), in the rank of Additional Director General of Police. He served more than 07 years on deputation to the Government of India in various capacities such as Joint Director, Anti-corruption HQ Zone, Lucknow Zone of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India.
