💔 In Loving Memory of My Traffic Lady, Nicole 💔
Today my heart is heavy as I say goodbye to someone who meant so much to so many.
Nicole was my very first hairdresser back in the late 80s and early 90s, right after my mother (who is also a hairdresser). But Nicole was so much more than someone who did hair. She was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger and showed love to everyone she came in contact with.
One thing about Nicole… she always had a nickname for everybody! 😂 Somehow, I was one of the few people she never gave a nickname to. But that was okay because I made sure to give her one of my own — “My Traffic Lady.”
The story behind that name still makes me laugh. One day, Nicole was standing in the middle of the street holding up traffic, and I yelled, “Lady, get out of the way!” 😂🤣😂 Without missing a beat, she started directing the cars to go around her like she was the official traffic controller. From that day forward, she became My Traffic Lady.
Nicole lived her life the same way she stood in that street — boldly, fearlessly, and with a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She loved deeply, laughed often, and left an impression on everyone she met.
While I will miss her dearly, I find comfort in knowing she can finally rest. Her work here is done.
Life reminds us that none of us know how much time we have. We are all guaranteed two dates: the day we are born and the day we leave this earth. What matters most is the dash in between.
And if there was ever someone who made her dash count, it was Nicole.
So let us all take a lesson from My Traffic Lady:
❤️ Love people.
❤️ Be kind.
❤️ Make someone laugh.
❤️ Leave people better than you found them.
❤️ Make your dash count.
Rest peacefully, Nicole. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the love, and the example you set for all of us.

I’ve learned that love isn’t something you force, chase, or beg for. Real love finds you when you finally become comfortable with yourself, protect your peace, and stop settling for temporary feelings. Right now, I’m manifesting a love that’s genuine, loyal, patient, and effortless. A love filled with understanding, consistency, laughter, growth, and real connection.
I’m no longer entertaining confusion, mixed signals, or half-hearted energy. I’m making room for the kind of love that feels safe, intentional, and mutual. The kind of love that pours into me the same way I pour into others.
Until then, I’ll keep elevating, healing, praying, and becoming the version of myself that’s ready for everything I’ve been asking God for. What’s meant for me will never miss me.
