MAF Machine is a training dashboard for endurance athletes following the Maximum Aerobic Function (MAF) methodology developed by Dr. Phil Maffetone. The core premise: aerobic fitness is built by training consistently below a specific heart rate ceiling (calculated using the 180-minus-age formula). Progress is invisible day-to-day, so the app makes it visible through data analysis, and trend visualization.

The app does three things:
- Pulls the athlete’s own Strava activity data (heart rate, pace, distance, timestamps)
- Analyzes it against their personal MAF heart rate ceiling
- Generates game-like badges, streaks and quests to keep the athlete engaged in training
