During the month of April I found out about aiplay.live. It's a website where there are 'music maker friendly' internet streaming shows that people host to allow everyone to share their music. So far I've done one and my song was picked at random (thank goodness)!

A rep reached out to me out of the blue with an article they wrote about my song and video for 'Overcast'. Full disclosure to be transparent, this is an online site that has paid placement opportunities for promotion. Them finding my song, and writing the article WITH my video embedded along with all my social medias linked was a plus. Also I liked how they explained the song, my project and my name I go by iiSwanSongii. That little voice told me to just do it so I got the pricing. To be transparent the cost was $50 for the article to be shared on their homepage and stay under their 'rock' section forever(?) and for my 'overcast' reel on Instagram to be shared twice in their Instagram feed with links. So I took the offer. My views doubled in 2 days on that video, and I got some new subscribers from it so hello if that is you! So if you are a music maker and ever get approached by Slash Music I would highly recommend saying yes.

Good morning everyone!✨ I wanted to share that I saw in my latest video 'Not The Enemy' some major (to me, maybe no one else saw them?) music to footage sync issues where at many points jump cuts or lip sync was delayed. So I decided this morning to rework the video to correct all of those and 'REPOST' a much, much cleaner version. I’ve finished building an MP3 & WAV digital download store on my website. This is for anyone who would like to support Into The Ether directly and collect their favorite tracks for personal, offline listening.

I’ve added an initial batch of the most viewed and liked songs in my catalog, and I’ll continue adding more over time. I’ll also take requests—if your favorite isn’t there yet, you can email me at music@intotheether.net or leave a comment on this post.

🎵 Why offer digital downloads?

The reason I decided to do this came from thinking about gatekeepers (record labels) and middlemen (streaming platforms). Doesn’t it make more sense for artists to distribute their music directly to the people who believe in it?

The first time I heard about DIY was through independent punk rock musicians in the ’90s, but its roots go back to the ’60s and ’70s. It was a mindset—handling everything yourself: writing, recording, promotion, artwork, zines… everything.

That idea stuck with me. I like the idea of being truly independent right now—working with the platforms I have, sharing my music freely, and making it available to anyone who connects with it and wants to support the project.

After hearing so many stories over the years about artists being taken advantage of in the corporate music world, I feel fortunate to be in a position where I can share my music on my own terms—without contracts or obligations.

Especially now, with changes happening in distribution platforms, I want to make sure I maintain full control over my music and how it’s shared.
