* "Pictured is the female protagonist in the story (top, bottom left & in the middle), together with her best friend Aadhira (bottom right), which means “moonlight” or “moon” in Indian. The female protagonist, named Mila (pseudonym), a very beautiful Indian woman, is depicted below in both pen drawings and paintings. In this comic story, she is my wife. The person is fictional, but in terms of character, I was inspired by a Hindustani woman I know. The name ‘Mila’ appeals to me greatly because of its soft sound and pronunciation; it is not only used as a girl's name in India but is also a Slavic name meaning “beloved,” “sweet,” or “gracious.” Additionally, the name is associated with “precious” and - to give another example - in Italian, it means “thousands.” In short, it is a popular, internationally used girl's name."

**** “There was no question of a forced conversion to Christianity, in this case Roman Catholicism. Despite baptism, we remained faithful to our ancestral beliefs, a mixture of Vedic Hindu Buddhism and pre-Vedic, Dravidian folk religion, and to our languages, indigenous Sundanese and Old Malay. Under the influence of Roman Catholicism, we were merely enabled to retain our autochthonous beliefs in a form suitable for the new circumstances. Although we accepted the Roman form of Christianity, our old beliefs largely survived throughout the entire Dutch colonial period. Roman Catholicism enabled us to preserve and continue practicing Vedic Hindu Buddhism and Dravidian folk religion, thanks to the Jesuit Order, which pursued a peaceful policy of incorporating and adapting elements of the old ancestrial beliefs with the new faith. Unlike Roman Catholicism and the Counter-Reformation, it was, on the other hand, Protestantism and the Reformation that resorted to persecution, resulting in forced conversions to a form of Christianity that doesn’t allow religious syncretism - by completely renouncing everything that binds us to our ancestors. Fortunately, the Jesuits protected us from this, so we could practice and incorporate our ancestrial beliefs with Roman Catholicism, and that is what we do to this day ... ... ...” ****

* Description Drawing I:
* CHRISTIANITY.
- On the left several crosses of Roman-Catholicism & Eastern Orthodoxy, more specifically the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church. In the middle, left above: two Latin crosses used by the 19th-century Revolutionary Nihilists in Tsarist Russia, belonging to the Anarchist "priestless" Fugitives. Amidst all these crosses, I have drawn my own handpalm with two fingers, making the sign of the cross, the religious sign used by the Russian Old-Believers or Old-Ritualists, of the Old-Orthodox Church.

* JESUITISM.
- In the center of the drawing stands the radiant sun or flaming sunburst of the Society of Jesus (S.J.) or the Jesuit Order, symbolizing the light of Christ shining upon the world, with the IHS monogram. In the center of the seal are the letters "IHS" (sometimes "JHS"). These are the first three letters - iota, eta, and sigma - of the Greek name for Jesus (IHΗΣΟΥΣ), with a cross above the horizontal bar of the 'H' and below the 'H' three nails, symbolizing the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

* BUDDHISM.
- Top right: the two symbols of Mahayana Buddhism, the lotus throne with Siddhartha Gautama or Buddha Shakyamuni, most commonly referred to as the Buddha (lit. 'The Awakened One'/’The Enlightened One’, and the 'Wheel of Dharma'. The Wheel of Dharma (or “Dharmachakra”) is a primary Buddhist symbol representing Siddhartha Gautama’s teachings, the path to Enlightenment, and the "turning" of these teachings toward Enlightenment. It typically features a hub (discipline), spokes (wisdom), and a rim (meditative focus), often representing the Noble Eightfold Path and liberation from the cycle of suffering (“Samsara”). The wheel is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism, signifying the strength, perfection, and enduring nature of the Buddha's teachings. In Mahayana Buddhism, the image of the Buddha seated on a lotus throne signifies Enlightenment rising above the "mud" of worldly suffering and desire. The lotus symbolizes purity, non-attachment, and spiritual unfolding, as its flowers bloom pristine above water despite being rooted in mud, representing the potential for all beings to achieve awakening.

* HINDUISM.
- Bottom right: The Ohm sign (ॐ), often written as “Om” or “Aum”, consists of three curves, a dot, and a crescent, each holding a spiritual meaning, and is a sacred symbol in both Hinduism and Buddhism representing the primordial sound of Creation, the vibration of the Universe, and connection to the Divine. It symbolizes peace, balance, infinity, and the three stages of existence: birth, life, and death. Harihara, the Dual God, is a composite deity in Hinduism that represents the fusion of the two main Hindu gods Vishnu (Hari) and Shiva (Hara), the equivalence of various gods as one principle, and "Oneness of all Existence". The sign of Harihara (or “Shankaranarayana”), depicted at the bottom in both symbolism and Sanskrit script, symbolizes unity, harmony, and the connection of divine forces in various forms. Unity: Harihara symbolizes that Vishnu and Shiva are essentially ONE and that there is no fundamental difference between the Vaishnavism and Shaivism schools. Harmony: It shows the balance between the preserver (Vishnu) and the destroyer/transformer (Shiva) in the Universe. Iconography: Harihara is typically depicted as a deity split lengthwise in two: the right half is Vishnu (often with attributes such as the conch shell and discus) and the left half is Shiva (often with matted hair, a trident, and a snake). Sometimes the respective consorts, Lakshmi (with Vishnu) and Parvati (with Shiva), are also depicted at their respective sides.

- Woman with an ash cross on her forehead. An ash cross is a Catholic symbol applied to the forehead on Ash Wednesday as a sign of reflection, introspection, mortality, and penance at the beginning of Lent, the 40-day fasting period before Easter. The ash, often from burnt palm branches, serves as a reminder of transience and purification. The ash cross is placed on the forehead by a priest. During this ritual, which marks the start of Lent, the priest speaks the words: "Remember, man, that you are dust and to dust you shall return."

- "This is one drawing from a comic strip I'm currently making. It's a story with me as the main character and an Indian woman I'm going to rescue. For the woman's character, I was inspired by a Hindustani woman I know, and I also became interested in how she was dressed and the way she talks to me. I used all of this as inspiration for the female protagonist in the story. In the comic strip, I play a leading role as a gunslinger and someone fighting against social injustice, such as violence, corruption, and discrimination."
