Hey y'all,

A bit of a change of plans regarding everyday May. A last minute opportunity came up to visit family and I took it. Although exiting, it means an end to everyday May. I'm not sure if I will resume when I get back, but I'd like to if y'all are interested! There will be a few videos going up while I'm away but not at the regular pace.

I'm so sorry to promise something and not deliver and I apologize if this is disappointing!!

Hey y'all, here is the official call for submissions for the next installment of the normalizing normal life series.

I want to see what's normal for YOU this time of year whether you're cozy at home, celebrating Ramadan, excited for the upcoming season, or not. Nothing is too "boring" or "normal"! You can show us your home, what you're doing, meals, hobbies, or anything else that's going on in your world.

The form will be live until March 10th at 11:59 pm

Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of where you live or what season you're experiencing.

You can choose to be anonymous and please only share what you're comfortable with. Thank you so much and I can't wait to see more of your normal life.

Hey y'all!
This week my channel had its 6th birthday! Thanks to everyone who's been a part of the community over the years, whether it's been for a little or a long while!

If you're curious about how everything started check out my first video below! My first video is my no buy intro that I made in February 2020. An interesting choice to wait a full month but I was scared of putting myself out there and I wanted to get things right. I edited the video 6 separate times and realizing that I'd never be happy with it I just let it rip.

Hey y'all happy February! I wanted to share some slices of normal life with y'all from January.
1. Finding old childhood photos of myself. There were some true gems I haven't seen in over a decade!
2-3. Working on and finishing my first puzzle!
4. Catching up on some rewilding jude with my oatmeal. I got a GREAT deal on raspberries and enjoyed them very thoroughly
5. Burning a candle my brother's partner gave me
6. Drinking tea from my nonna's christmas china (and still drinking from it even though it's Feb)

7. Organizing my nonna's sewing kit. I now have a sewing drawer that houses her kit + clothes I want to mend or upcycle.

There were some other great moment from January like watching a pretty sunset from my kitchen, staying cozy in bed during a snow storm, and having my family over.

I'd love to know some of your favourite moments from January!

Hey y'all, a bit of a heavier post incoming

It's been a few days since the most recent murder at the hands of ICE and as a Canadian I honestly haven't been sure what to say or if it's my place to say anything, nor do I want anything I do say to be performative or about me.

I do not have lived experience of these events, nor is it my place to tell people what they should feel or how they should respond. There is a lot of information flooding everyone’s feeds right now, and that can be overwhelming, confusing, and frightening especially for people in Minnesota or those directly affected.

What I will say is this: I have been moved by seeing how many people in Minnesota are showing up for their neighbors, their communities, and for each other in the aftermath of these deaths and the tremendous abuse of power. That solidarity, that presence, that care for one another gives me hope and reminds me why community matters so profoundly.

I read earlier this week that during times of information overload, doing something tangible can lessen the power that constant information has over us. So if you are feeling helpless or frustrated, wherever you live, I encourage you to turn toward your community, or to be more present with the one you already have. Grounding ourselves within our communities is how we enact change! Our communities need us now (within the limits of the care and risk each of us is able to take) and they also need us when the news cycle moves on or if they neve make it onto one.

If you are moved to help financially or through volunteer efforts in Minnesota, organizations like Stand With Minnesota have info about ways to support local and legal resources www.standwithminnesota.com/

I am taking my own advice and have made a donation to the ACLU of Minnesota. Also, sorry if this post wasn't 10/10. I've been so usure of what to say and that's stopped me from saying something, so I figured imperfect is better than silent.

In solidarity, Shawna

Hey friends, happy 2026!

I want to thank you so much for being a part of this community this year. Whether you've been here for a long or short while, thank you! Also, thank you for all the support on Vidmas this year. It's a tradition I really love and it makes me so happy that so many of you love it too. This year's also wouldn't have been possible without my awesome editor Kate!

The goal of this channel has always been to be a place of positive influence and I hope to do more of that in 2026.

I am also currently very sick 😅 I got hit a couple days ago and am currently hibernating on my couch. It's a bit miraculous the no buy video got up. 10/10 timing to be honest. Anyway, short break from me and I'll see you when I see you! Hoping your 2026 is off to a better start.
