The Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR is a futuristic electric concept car inspired by Avatar, featuring biometric controls, crab-walking spherical wheels, a 100% recyclable organic battery, and sustainable materials. It showcases Mercedes' vision for an eco-friendly, human-machine-connected future in mobility.

Details on Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR :
The Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR is a groundbreaking concept vehicle that pushes the boundaries of automotive design, sustainability, and human-machine interaction. Inspired by the film Avatar, the AVTR (Advanced Vehicle Transformation) blends futuristic aesthetics with a vision of ecological harmony. Unlike traditional cars, the VISION AVTR does not feature a steering wheel—instead, it uses a biometric control system in the center console that recognizes the driver’s heartbeat and breathing, establishing a direct connection between human and machine. The car is fully electric and powered by a revolutionary graphene-based organic battery that is 100% recyclable and free of rare earth metals, demonstrating Mercedes’ commitment to sustainable innovation. The interior is made from vegan leather and renewable materials like Karuun® wood, offering a luxurious yet environmentally conscious design. The wheels are uniquely spherical and capable of moving independently, allowing the vehicle to move sideways like a crab—enhancing its maneuverability. The vehicle’s exterior is illuminated with dynamic, glowing light strips and has 33 “bionic flaps” on the rear that can communicate with the environment and respond to gestures. The VISION AVTR is not meant for production but serves as a symbolic leap into the future of mobility, where machines are not just tools but organic extensions of human intention, designed to exist in harmony with the planet.

A recent social media post by Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh has triggered a sequence of public marketing responses from rival car brands Audi, BMW, and BYD, drawing widespread attention in the South Asian automotive community.

The original post featured a Mercedes vehicle demonstrating a 360-degree turn on the streets of Gulshan. While the video aimed to highlight the vehicle's maneuverability, the tire marks left on the pavement unintentionally formed a shape resembling the Audi logo—four interlocking rings. The resemblance did not go unnoticed.

Shortly after the video went live, Audi responded publicly on their own platform, posting, “Thanks for creating our logo in Gulshan.” The statement was a subtle yet direct acknowledgment of the resemblance, treating the incident as an unintentional co-branding moment.

Mercedes then issued a follow-up post, stating, “You’re welcome. That post got you the highest social media engagement you’ve had to date. Next time, include two Mercedes vehicles for even better results.” The tone marked a confident stance from Mercedes, framing the incident as both a branding success and an unintended assist to its competitor.

BMW entered the conversation independently, releasing a marketing post featuring its flagship 7 Series vehicle. The post focused on the model’s 8K interior display, accompanied by a caption encouraging viewers to “Relax and enjoy the show in 8K clarity.” Though not mentioning the prior exchange directly, the timing and tone suggested BMW’s intent to position itself above the social engagement by emphasizing its product’s technological advantage.

Closing the sequence, BYD (Build Your Dreams) responded with a post of its own: “While you both keep running in circles, we plan to lead the way. For innovation, follow us.” The message was positioned as a forward-looking statement on EV leadership and brand direction, ending with a cultural sign-off: a respectful Jain greeting, adding a regional cultural context.

Industry analysts note that while such exchanges are not uncommon in global markets, this incident is one of the first high-profile, multi-brand public marketing interactions between luxury car manufacturers in Bangladesh. The conversation illustrates how even unplanned visual elements in brand content can generate significant engagement and cross-brand dynamics.

Marketing experts believe this event showcases a shift in regional automotive marketing toward more direct, engaging, and occasionally reactive strategies tailored for social media virality, while still grounded in brand narrative.
