Welcome to Dave Parker--Realtor. I help people as they transition from their homes to assisted living, downsizing or when they just want to make a change. I know how stressful moving can be, so I will do everything I can to make your transition as seamless as possible. I only work with a few customers at a time, so I can devote all my efforts into getting you the best deal possible. I have hosted exchange students from around the world, and have friends in many other countries. I also have also visited many other countries, so I know what it's like to feel like a stranger in a strange land; I will try to help you feel at home.

The Lost Wallet
I stopped to get gas at OnCue, and there was a wallet on top of the gas pump. I looked inside. There was a lot of personal stuff, an ID, an Oklahoma Commercial Drivers License and a wad of cash. I looked around and didn’t see anyone looking frantically, so I laid on my car seat.
What would you do in this situation? As I saw it, I had several choices:
1) Turn it in to the OnCue. That would be the easiest solution, but there was no way that I could guarantee that everything would get back to the owner.
2) Turn it in to the police. While that might be OK to many people, others might not feel comfortable going to a police station.
3) Call the owner. Many people regularly change cell phones, and the information you get on search engines isn’t always accurate. Plus, there is a possibility of a language issue.
4) Deliver it person. The house on the CDL was about 5 miles from the gas station, but I wasn’t sure what the area was like. But, I have lived and worked in “bad” areas, so that didn’t concern me as much. And there could be a language issue there, as well.
I decided to deliver it person. So I drove to the house. On the way I determined the best way to handle it. I took the driver’s license out and left the wallet in the van. Then I knocked on the door.
A young woman answered, and I asked if this was the home of the man on the driver’s license. I held it up for her to see the front of the license.
“Yes, that’s my brother,” she said.
“He left his wallet at the OnCue gas station,” I said. “It’s in the van. Let me get it.”
I retried it from the van, then gave it to her. She was very grateful and tried to give me a handful of money.
“Here, take this,” she said.
“No, thank you,” I said. “I just did what I would hope someone would do if they found my wallet.”
She tried to get me take the money a couple more times, but I said no.
“I hope you have a great day,” I said.
And I hope you all do, too!
