2 months of muscle gain. Most guys would call this "no progress." They'd be wrong.
The truth is this is what muscle gain looks like...even after about 2 months.
The photo on the left is from when my fat loss phase ended earlier this year.
Changes now are not quick, apparent, and noticeable after a few weeks like fat loss.
A much slower grind.
That doesn't mean nothing's happening.
This is the part where most guys lose momentum — not because it's not working, but because it doesn't feel like it's working.
If you've ever hit that wall, you know how easy it is to ease up.
This is the phase where I earn my stripes as a coach. Not the first 8 weeks — everyone can stay motivated when the mirror changes fast.
The real work are months 3+ when nothing seems to be happening. That's what I train people for -- staying locked in past the point where most guys talk themselves out of it.
Comment "STICK" and I'll send you my free 4-week program — because the guys who win here aren't the ones who go hardest. They're the ones who don't stop.

I survived cancer in 2017. Months in and out of hospitals, watching your body battle changes how you see fitness.
It stops being about abs. It becomes about building a body that can fight back.
So if my free content gets you moving and you never hire me? That's a win.
The world needs more dads over 40 who are harder to break.

"Less is more"...
That's what I keep learning 20 months into consistent home workouts now that I'm 40.
Hard training still matters. But I've stopped chasing every pound increase and every extra rep. I don't sacrifice technique to squeeze out one more. I warm up properly. I plan deloads and rest.
The debt comes due sooner now.
Anyone else feel this shift before/after 40, or just me? 👇

"I need to lose 20 pounds" feels overwhelming. So people try to do everything at once — diet, cardio, weights, more cardio — and burn out in 3 weeks.
The shortcut: pick ONE lever. This playlist walks through fat loss specifically for guys training at home with dumbbells. No gym, no marathon cardio, no starving yourself:

I failed 2 of my own fitness tests.
18 months of consistent home training. Visible transformation. Coaching others daily.
And I still had weaknesses I was doing nothing about.
You may think your home workout program is solid — but if you never test your fitness, you're training blind. I learned that the hard way.
Here are the 6 tests that exposed what I was missing: [https://youtu.be/t6nFIGJipME]

A 12 year old asked Reddit if 30-60 minute workouts are worth it.
Busy guys 40+ wonder the same thing.
And as much as fitness magazines, websites, and nowadays influencers have sold the idea of 1 hour workouts being some holy grail – its a lie.
The real “holy grail” if there is one, is the home workout you’ll actually do.
Even if that’s 20 minutes because that’s all you have time for consistently.
(Yes, even if you’re used to 30 or 60 minute workouts during less busy times of the year).
Consistency beats duration. Every time.
Have you ever talked yourself out of your home workouts because you didn't have a full hour? 👇

If your arms aren't growing despite consistent training, check your skullcrusher form.
Most guys doing these at home are getting more shoulder than tricep — and have no idea.
Two mistakes that kill your results:
❌ Flared elbows — you're loading your shoulder, not your triceps
❌ Lowering to your forehead — you're cutting the range of motion short
The fix:
✅ Elbows tight, almost vertical — tension stays where it belongs with minimal shoulder stress
✅ Lower PAST your forehead. (More range = more stimulus)
30 or 45 minutes at home works. But only if the reps actually count.
Do you find your elbows flare on these (whether you use or bar or dumbbell) or do you find it happens more with a different triceps exercise?
