this is what i put in my recent pin post but im gonna post it here too because


im finally gonna talk about this. as a hockey fan, ive kinda been soft-launching this for the last couple days but its time i finally said something.
im gonna preface this by saying ive looked up to a lot of this team for several years, and i cannot say that any of this has been easy for me.

if you dont know, the usa men’s hockey team took gold in the olympics this competition. after their win, they were partying in the locker room with the lawyer-turned-director-of-the-fbi Kash Patel. they also had a call with President Trump, who invited them to the state of the union speech. he made a joke saying “i had to invite the women’s team too,” saying he’d get impeached if he didnt, to which they all giggled like little boys. (yes, they were drunk, but being drunk is NOT an excuse for shitty behavior.)

20 of the 25 players also did attend the speech last night, and Connor Hellebuyck received the presidential medal of freedom, for stopping 41 shots on goal in the gold medal game.

the majority of this does depend on your political beliefs, but in my opinion this is a disgusting thing for them to do. unless and until they come out and say something about this topic, i will be ceasing all of my support for the individual players of the team usa men’s hockey team.
