Hi, my name is Anna. Me and my husband grew up in the interior of Alaska. When we had family move out of state, we decided to go too. But after spending a few years in South Carolina, we started to miss our Alaskan life. So we packed up our things and our 4 children, and drove back over 5,000 miles to the Alaskan Kenai Penninsula to start over.

Spent the day fishing at the Homer Spit while we are waiting on the closing papers to our Alaskan homestead property. No salmon, but we still got plenty of fish for a fish fry at our campsite!

Waiting on closing papers for our raw, wooded, Alaskan homestead property! We walked the land again making plans on where to put the temporary cabin, the main house, animals and a garden. We also witnessed a wild forest fire that started up across the Kenai river, while we were out doing the property tour!

Boys have been doing lots of trout fishing so we have been having a lot of fish with our meals lately.
On onother note, I was so shocked at the price of bread here! The cheapest loaf we found so far was a Great Value loaf from Walmart priced over 3 dollars a loaf!
Our camper oven is too small to fit loaf pans for baking bread, so we've been making lots of sourdough flatbread to go with our meals. Nobody seems to mind 😊

Campground living at its finest as a family with little kids. Making sourdough fltabread almost daily, spending quality laundromat time, and boys are on sewer duty 😅
But, this stage of building our from scratch homestead in Alaska will not be forever. Our offer on the property was excepted! So the real work is going to begin soon!

Meanwhile we are test fishing the Kasilof river waiting for the Salmon run to start. And burning citronella candles at the camp to veer off the huge Alaskan mosquitos! Life is great! 🥰
