The recent news about NHS maternity care has brought much-needed attention to issues that many Black women have been speaking about for years.
For years, Black women in the UK have experienced significantly poorer maternity outcomes and have shared their concerns about feeling unheard, dismissed, or having to work harder to advocate for themselves.

Their voices deserved to be heard long before this moment.
