Today we have reached a wonderful milestone, Ritzy Travel Guide has reached one hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube. And at exactly the same time we have now passed ten million views for our videos.

Which is something we never dreamed would happen. 

More than a hundred videos later, and Lord knows how many cruises, flights, trains and adventures around the world, we'd simply like to say thank you to every one of you who's joined us along the way.

And do you know what has given us the greatest pleasure? It isn't the ships, the destinations or even the milestones. It's the community that's grown around Ritzy Travel Guide.

We genuinely believe we have one of the kindest, funniest and most thoughtful groups of people you could ever hope to travel with. Your comments make us smile, make us think, and quite often make us laugh out loud.

One of the greatest compliments we ever receive is when someone says, "It felt like we were travelling with you."

That's always been our aim. Not simply to show you a destination, but to make you feel as though we experienced it together. That you weren't just watching a cruise, a train journey or a city... you were right there beside us.

Thank you for watching, for commenting, for sharing your own experiences, for correcting us when we've got something wrong, and for making Ritzy Travel Guide feel less like a YouTube and social media channel, and more like a group of friends travelling the world together.

We genuinely can’t wait to share the next chapters with you.

Over the next couple of weeks, we've got a few announcements to make about the future of the channel. Some exciting changes, some new ideas, and perhaps one or two surprises that we've been quietly working on behind the scenes. We'll tell you more very soon!

Welcome to the Ritzy Travel Guide coverage aboard the Disney Adventure, from Singapore,and Day One of our cruise.

I'd love to be able to tell you we are sailing into the sunset, waving goodbye to Singapore. Sadly that's not the case. Just after scheduled Sailaway time, the Captain came over the intercom to announce problems. He described them as propulsion issues. Possibly the azipods.

Anyhow, the short of it is: we're not going anywhere. Definitely not tonight, possibly not tomorrow.

Bearing in mind it's a 4 day cruise, that doesn't leave much.

Ironically it's described as a 'Cruise to Nowhere.' That might end up being frustratingly true, if we never even untie from the docks. That really is a cruise to nowhere

I predict there might be a bit of a mutiny if that ends up being the case.

We'll keep you updated!

Frustrating news again today, from the Strait of Hormuz, in the conflict in the Middle East.

Just when we all thought the trapped six cruise ships would be able to make their way past the blockade, the Straits have been closed again by Iran.

Only one of the six has so far successfully made it out. That is the Celestyal Discovery, the first one that had the plucky courage to make a run for it.

Four of the ships were just hours from escaping, when Iran closed it again. They are now frozen in their tracks. Presumably anchors down, waiting to see what happens next.

The 4 waiting are: Celestyal Journey, MSC Euribia and 2 Mein Schiff.

Agonising tension.

It's great to see that the little Celestyal Discovery has made it through the most dangerous part of the Strait of Hormuz, and continuing past Oman, possibly to make a first stop at Muscat.

This has now encouraged a couple of the other trapped cruise lines to make a 'dash' for it. Sister ship the Celestyal Journey is now underway, followed by one of the two German Mein Schiff ships. MSC Euribia is also making a bolt.

This was all prompted by Iran announcing today that for a limited time the Strait of Hormuz is open. It's anyone's guess how long that will remain the case, so cruise ships, and indeed any other vessels, are now taking the risk that this could be their one and only chance.

Well done to the Celestyal Discovery for being the first one to bravely give it a go. 'Nerve wracking' probably doesn't even begin to describe how all the crew must be feeling aboard.
