I kind of feel like I need to post something saying what has been going on.

On May 13th an old friend/acquaintance of mine died by suicide. He was 14 years old.

I knew him in 5th grade, he was in my class and we went to an after school homework thing and sat next to each other.

Out of privacy and respect for him and his family I will not be saying his name so please do not ask.

I barely got to know him. Don't know his favorite color, or what he wanted to do with his life. Everyone I have talked to has just said that he was so sweet and funny, but no one really knew him. Personally, I am ashamed that I never got to know him more. I may not have known him for long, but when we did talk, he was so sweet and funny and kind. He will be missed so much and already is.


It is so surreal. You hear about it happening on the news, you hear stories, but then it happens to someone in your state. Your town. Your school. Your grade. Your class. Someone that you knew. It hurts. It hurts because someone so young amd full of potential will never get the chance. It hurts because someone your age is gone. It hurts because it is real.


One of the things that hurts the most is that if he heard these things, the things people are saying about him now, the way the school looks dull, the sounds of everyone sobbing throughout the school, the hallways being almost silent, then maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't have done it. But we don't know. We may never know. We can run all of the possibilities through our heads, but it won't help anything.


So now, to anyone reading this, who needs to hear it,

You matter.
You are loved.
You are so important to this world.
You. Will. Be. Missed.


The school is weird now, everyone crying, skipping classes, nothing can carry on. Everyone has been impacted. Everyone will be impacted if you leave too.

You.
Matter.


Everyone please stay safe, hug your loved ones, give them a call, tell someone you love them, and do something you love.

I am so done with NT's saying that they are overstimulated when they are actually overwhelmed. Being overstimulated is NOT a trend. It is NOT "fun" or "cool" it is one of the most awful feelings.

OVERSTIMULATED is most commonly seen in neruodivergent people, although it can 100% be exhibited in neurotypicals. For me, it is usually brought on by being overheated or having textures on me that I cannot deal with. It feels like I am on fire. It feels like everything that touches me is sandpaper. It. Is. Awful. It is not cool.

You are OVERWHELMED when your schoolwork is too much. When you have a lot going on in your life. When you have family, friends, after school activities/ extra circulars, or anything like that and any combination of those and more, you are overwhelmed. It is not a fun feeling by any means don't get me wrong, but it is NOTHING like being overstimulated.


"Overstimy" is not an okay thing for a neurotypical to say.


PLEASE. I am BEGGING you, just do a little bit of research before saying things like this.
