THIS IS THE CHANNEL FOR THE "ORIGINAL" TJR - GUITARIST, PIANIST, COMPOSER, SINGER SONGRITER, MUSIC-MOVIE AND LIVE COMMENTATOR AND ADDICTED GREEN TEA DRINKER!
This Sunday’s video is a little different. It started as a discussion about “For No One” by The Beatles… …but it slowly became something much more personal. Sometimes a song can suddenly stop feeling like “just a song” — and start feeling like it understands something you actually lived through. This may be one of the most personal videos I’ve made on the channel. Coming Sunday.
…So I am finally going to talk about this band. First question—does this actually sound good to you… or just weird? Can’t wait to hear your reaction. New video this Sunday!
Quick question— Should Record Store Day start including more CD releases? Not instead of vinyl… but alongside it. Posting a video on this later today where I will make my argument as to why it should, and would appreciate your comments when it releases.
Last Sunday’s video asked a pretty big question about classic albums and whether they should ever be changed. But that got me thinking about something else… 👉 Why do we remix these albums in the first place? There are actually a few very different reasons—and not all of them are bad. New video this Sunday.
When the remix of Queen I came out, I had a pretty strong reaction to the idea of Freddie Mercury’s vocals being altered. But after sitting with it for a while… I’m not sure it’s as simple as I first thought. Especially with a new Queen II release right around the corner. New video this Sunday.
With the Oscars this Sunday, Sinners is leading the race with the most nominations of any film this year. But the moment I can’t stop thinking about is the wild musical sequence where musicians from different eras suddenly appear and start playing together. Past. Present. Future. It’s a strange, beautiful moment — and it reminded me of something from my own years playing live music. New video about that scene coming this Sunday.
Thank you everyone who suggested this Sundays video after watching last weeks video exploring the two versions of Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones. A video exploring the three versions of Revolution by The Beatles will post this Sunday.

Last year, while visiting 3 Savile Row in London, we made a video asking:
“Why isn’t this The Beatles’ version of Graceland?”
Today Apple officially announced that the building will reopen in 2027 as “The Beatles at 3 Savile Row” — the first official Beatles fan experience.
So apparently we weren’t the only ones thinking it. 😂

Is talent something you’re born with… or something you earn?
And can a movie actually change how you see that?
Revisited Amadeus recently and it brought something back I hadn’t thought about in years.
Video coming this Sunday.
