To sit with Dr. Amy Edmondson a leader who has shaped how we understand psychological safety and talk about trust, failure, and what it really means to lead with courage and clarity was an absolute gift.
Amy showed up with some provocative thoughts. Not for the sake of being edgy, but because she’s stayed in the work long enough to know what’s at stake when we settle for shallow definitions of trust or mistake comfort for safety.
If you care about creating spaces where people can speak up, take smart risks, and grow—we hope you’ll listen or watch this episode of The WiLD Conversation podcast.

The joy of seeing your biggest cheerleaders as you cross the finish line does something miraculous — the pain fades for a moment…until the lactic acid sets in.
A few weeks out now, I’ve been reflecting. I think about the work it took to get there. The literal miles from start to finish. The hills. The moments I questioned myself every other step. And the woman behind me who kept saying, “Downhill is the prize.”
Her voice and smile are everywhere online now, and I love it. Downhill is the prize… but you can’t run downhill unless you’ve first pushed uphill. And when you turn that corner with her voice in your head something shifts. You can run it all the way in.
Crossing the finish line doesn’t always mean grinning from ear to ear. Sometimes it’s grit. Sometimes it’s tears. But it’s also joy knowing you accomplished your goal.
And then, three or four weeks later, you’re back in your office wondering, What’s next? The adrenaline fades. The day-to-day sets in. You might need someone, or even your own heart, to remind you: You crossed that finish line. There’s another one ahead. And every moment in between matters.
Happy Aloha Friday 🌺

Sometimes leadership is just this— Standing under the coconut tree. Waiting.
Because when you really stand there—with your feet in the dirt and your heart wide open—you begin to realize:
🌴 What falls might nourish you.
🌴 What shakes loose might wake you.
🌴 Either way, you’re still standing.
“When you stand under the coconut tree, you learn to look up—with gratitude, with caution, and with hope. Sometimes what falls is a gift. Sometimes it’s a wake-up call.”
Let’s keep showing up, grounded and ready.

Some conversations leave a lasting imprint—this was one of them.
I had the absolute privilege of hosting this WiLD Conversation with Mark L. Vincent PhD.
Mark carries a depth of wisdom that only comes from decades of walking alongside leaders—guiding them through business continuity, succession, and the unseen work of leadership that shapes the future. But more than that, he brings a rare humility and generosity of spirit that makes every conversation with him a gift.
In this episode, we dive into trust, leadership, and what it really takes to build something that lasts. His insights from our State of Trust at Work Report are invaluable, and I as do every time I get to be with Mark and Rob McKenna, PhD, I left the conversation reminded of how important it is to lead with intention, resilience, and care.
I have the deepest respect for Mark and the work he has dedicated his life to. You won’t want to miss this one. 🎙️

Trust isn’t just built between people—it begins within us. In this episode of WiLD Conversation Podcast, Dr. Rob McKenna and Sabeth Kapahu unpack the critical connection between trust, self-awareness, and worthiness.
According to the Relate Project research 41% of young adults don’t feel worthy of love. What does that mean for leadership, relationships, and the way we build trust? Trustworthiness isn’t something we declare or demand—it’s something we live into. It’s about reliability, consistency, and truth-telling, not just in our words but in our actions.
In this conversation, Rob and I explore:
🔹 How our sense of self-worth impacts our ability to trust others
🔹 Why distrust thrives in the shadows—and how to bring it into the light
🔹 The role of failure in becoming trustworthy
🔹 Why trust must be built before it can be earned
Trust isn’t just about believing in someone else—it’s about knowing ourselves well enough to lead with integrity. Whether you’re leading a team, navigating relationships, or just trying to find solid ground, this episode challenges you to look inward first.
WiLD Leaders is excited to announce our State of Trust at Work report—an in-depth look at the data, insights, and actions that can help leaders like you cultivate trust in your sphere of influence.
