The Data Doesn't Lie 📊 (Why we are pivoting back to shorter episodes)
Hey everyone,
I want to share the side-by-side data from today’s test to show you exactly how the YouTube algorithm is working right now, and why we have to make a strategic pivot.
As you can see in the screenshots, the new Thanos vs. Pennywise video got off to a fast start (10K views in 4 hours). However, look at the Average Percentage Viewed.
The new episode is 1 minute and 40 seconds long, and the retention dropped straight down to 56.5%. By comparison, the previous episode was only 45 seconds long and held a massive 97.3% retention.
I spent over 20 hours editing this test episode, and Chad even came in to help with some of the animation parts. When we put that much time and teamwork into a longer video, only to have half the audience swipe away before it's over, YouTube's algorithm instantly kills its momentum.
Some might try to excuse the drop by saying the "Wrong Audio" series uses older, edited clips. But both of these videos use the exact same parody format. The only difference between them is the length.
This test proves that modern attention spans simply cannot hold out for longer videos right now. To make sure the massive amount of work we put in actually gets pushed by the algorithm, I am officially pivoting back to keeping the episodes shorter, faster, and punchier.

When 99% of the channel doesn't show up, it tells me the video just isn't interesting enough for the majority to click on. It’s hard to justify weeks of hard work for numbers that low.
Put simply: when the community doesn't show up, I can't show up. If you want Part 2, the power is in your hands to go run those views up! 🚀🎙️

Hey everyone! First off, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to see me at Level Up Expo this past weekend. Meeting you all and performing in the LED and Kaiser suits was an incredible high, but it was also a massive physical undertaking!
I know I teased that Metal Sonic would be dropping this Friday, but after the non-stop energy of the convention, I’ve realized my body needs a little more recovery time to make sure this video meets the 'Verbalase' standard. I’m an artist who believes in giving you my absolute best, and I never want to rush a project just to hit a deadline if the quality isn't 100%.
I’m taking a couple of extra days to recharge and put that final layer of polish on the track and visuals. I sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding—I promise the wait for Metal Sonic will be worth it!
