The Quantified Soul

The phrase sounds humble.

"Nobody can know."

"It's unknowable."

"It will always be a mystery."

But think carefully about what's being claimed.

To know that something can never be known, you'd have to know enough about it to rule out every possible path to understanding.

That's a remarkable level of certainty.

Real humility doesn't say:

"No one will ever know."

Real humility says:

"I don't know yet."

One closes the investigation.

The other keeps the door open.

And history is full of discoveries that only happened because someone ignored the people who said the search was over.

So the next time someone tells you a question can never be answered, ask yourself:

Are they protecting the mystery?

Or protecting their certainty?

Most people think their obstacle is cost.

It's usually not.

People spend hundreds every month on fitness memberships.
Supplements.
Wearables.
Productivity tools.
Courses.
Apps.

The question isn't whether you'll invest in change.

The question is whether you believe this particular change is real.

Because if it works...

If your brain can change...

If your nervous system can be retrained...
If the patterns you've called "just who I am" aren't permanent...

Then something else has to change too.

The story.

The identity.

The explanation you've been carrying for years.

Disbelief is cheap.

It protects the existing system.
It asks nothing of you.
It lets the current story survive untouched.

Real investigation costs more.

Because every time reality changes the map, the map has to change with it.

And sometimes that's the most expensive part.
