Riddle me this...

I'm soft when wet, hard when dry.
I drink water fast, but I'm almost always thirsty.
I twist, I coil, I shrink.

What am I?😁

Me: I want to grow my hair so long I don't have to stress about styling. So that I can just put my hair in a random hairstyle and be on my way.

I'm convinced that if you wear your natural hair long enough, you'll find yourself loving even the parts of it that, in the beginning, made you uncomfortable.

I mean, look at me now loving my frizzy twists like Frizz wasn't once the bane of my existence.😄

Today, I'm just truly grateful for the hair that grows out of my head.

It's so easy to get lost in comparison that we, too often, find ourselves wishing our hair straighter, darker, longer, curlier than God made it, never really stopping to consider how effortlessly our own hair grows out of our heads.

And what a blessing it is to have, free of charge, what some have to pay for!

My twists in March vs. My twists in April.
One thing about taking care of your natural hair is that YOU GET BETTER as surely as it gets better.

PS: The only difference between my frizzy and shiny twists is simply Shea Butter.

I can't believe I've been sleeping on Shea Butter for so long. Nature truly has provided all that we need.

This picture was taken around 10pm. Inadvertently glanced my reflection in a mirror and knew I had to capture my hair like this.

I had taken out the rope only an hour, or so, earlier after wearing my hair in a high puff all day, but seeing my hair in this massive fro with my coils popping made me want to rewind and go out looking like this 😁

Don't you just loooove the versatility of our natural hair!

I'm not sure I can ever really explain how much I love my natural hair. Not just because of how it looks (but mostly because of how it looks😁), but because of what it has taught me - patience, consistency,
Self-acceptance, CONFIDENCE.

There are days it frustrates me, no doubt, but even in those moments, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

My hair is versatile. It’s soft. It’s strong. It’s expressive. It's mine... and every coil tells a story of growth — not just hair length, but my growth.

If you’re on your natural hair journey, this is your reminder: You don’t have to love it every day… but give yourself time and I can assure you that one day, you will.
