Hey everyone, TrailDog Version 2.5 is officially LIVE! 🎉

It’s way too hot to be out filming today, which gave me the perfect excuse to sit by the fan and deploy the biggest update to the platform yet. Keeping Ozzy safe and cool on our walks is the whole reason this app exists, so I’ve completely upgraded how we find trails.

What’s new in v2.5?

Custom Trail Matchmaking: The app now recommends hikes personalised to your fitness level using real community data.

Basecamps & Amenities: You can now easily locate campsites, water sources, and shaded spots to chill out mid-hike.

Built for Car-Free Explorers: Enhanced focus on transit-friendly routes so you can hop on the bus and get straight to the adventure.

Big updates for TrailDog! 🐾

Hey everyone! Jason and Ozzy here. We’ve been busy behind the scenes making TrailDog even better for your next adventure in the woods. 🌲

We’ve just pushed a few updates to make your trips smoother:

Offline Mode: You can now save your favorite walks! Even if you lose cell signal in the deep valleys, you’ll still have access to your maps, transit drop-offs, and trail info.
Easier Navigation: We’ve fixed the map pins so they take you exactly where you need to start, not just the middle of nowhere!

What’s New: Want to see what we're working on? Check out the new "What's New" section in the app to keep up with our latest improvements.

Your Ideas: We’ve added a suggestion box in the app. If there’s something you’d love to see to make your walks easier—like tide times or weather warnings—let us know! We read every note.

Massive news for all the car-free hikers out there! 🏕️🚌 Version 2.0 of the app is officially live, and it completely changes how Ozzy and I plan our trips. We’ve just added full campsite support and a huge new community-mapped amenities system!

Now, when you hop off the bus, you’ll know exactly where the nearest dog-friendly pub, water tap, and waste bin are before you even hit the trail. You can also drop pins for campsites and instantly find the best transit routes to get right to the pitch.

Ozzy and I are heading out to test the new features this evening, and we'll definitely be filming a few clips for the next vlog while we're at it!

Traildog isn't just for Newport! 🐾

I’ve had a few people ask if Traildog is only for the Newport area. While I’ve been busy seeding the map with my favorite local spots for Ozzy and me, I’m excited to share that Traildog is fully functional UK-wide!

The app is built to support routes anywhere in the country. Wherever you and your dog are—from the mountains of Scotland to the coast of Cornwall—you can use the map to find your next dog-friendly, bus-accessible adventure.

I’ve also just finished a round of updates to ensure the maps are loading perfectly and reliably, no matter where you are exploring.

Quick update from me and Ozzy! 🐾

As you guys know from the channel, we are out on the trails around Newport constantly. But I have a confession: I don't drive, and planning these hikes has always been a bit of a mission! 🚌

I spent months getting frustrated by the 'car-only' bias of most walking maps—I'd spend hours checking bus routes, only to find the path at the end was a swamp or blocked by a stile Ozzy couldn't jump.

So, I decided to do something about it. I’ve built a tool for us: TrailDog.

It’s a local, free map for South Wales walkers. It features:

The Mud Meter: Real-time trail conditions (so we don't bus out to a swamp!).

Transit Routing: Integrated public transport to get us straight to the trailhead.

Stile Alerts: Built by us, for us.

☀️ Another hot week ahead!

While we're all trying to stay cool, don't forget that computers can struggle in warm weather too 💻🔥

Dust build-up and higher temperatures can lead to noisy fans, slow performance, overheating, and even unexpected shutdowns.

I've already had a few customers asking about systems running hotter than usual, so if your computer has been acting up, now might be a good time to get it checked.

🐾 Ozzy is currently supervising quality control from the office and assures me he's doing a very important job.

This week me and Ozzy were officially accepted as volunteers with @petsastherapy_uk, and our new uniforms have arrived!

I think it's safe to say Ozzy is already taking his new role very seriously... or maybe he just knows he looks handsome in blue. 😎🐶

We're incredibly proud and can't wait to start our visits and hopefully bring a few smiles along the way. 💙
