Hi all! So you may have noticed I am releasing a bunch of book content. I'm happy to announce I am releasing my novel this summer! This channel will remain the same with content related to my book showing up only on occasion. I'm wondering what to say. Do I begin with a brief introduction about myself, you know, answer the typical 'my favorite color is' question. I honestly wonder what the purpose of that question is? But okay let's say purple because it's pretty and reminds me of peace. I'm all for peace... unless I'm about to start my period, or... hungry, or generally discouraged about my art. I've had a not-so-hot year (2025) in regards to my art. I'm not an "artist" in the traditional sense. I paint and sketch stuff but I don't consider that my "real" art. My "real" art is the blow on my lucky dice at the roulette table kind of art. It's the pitch and toss chance. It's a hope that I'll wake up one day and my fading "La La Land" poster hanging on my wall? Yeah that'll be my life. Something paid off. I made it, even if that just means I take a bit of a well earned break from the giant, crazy, wild, and wonderful crapshow called creation.
My lucky dice I'm blowing on right now? Writing my sequel along with a couple side projects.
Lately, it's like getting to the next level of a game, each new chapter opening up fresh avenues to explore. I can't stop going back to that darn Word Doc again and again and again! And it's great, sometimes, a lot of the times, but if I'm being honest I'm scared of what happens if I stop. And even more scared of what might happen if I don't.
This past year I watched this hilarious tear jerker of a series called, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." I won't spoil the punchline but she's a comedian. In episode one, after being arrested for flashing her audience (legendary) she drops this banger of a line. "Do you love it?" She asks the pointed question to a seasoned comedian, Lenny Bruce, (can we just take a moment to acknowledge the perfection of that man!) "Comedy, do you love it?"
From the standpoint of a film enthusiast and aspiring storyteller, what jazz! The answer should be obvious. Hell to the nah!
The entire point of acting, music, comedy, painting whatever your dreaming about IS expression. Prison is the antithesis of that expression. But for so many of us, like Mrs. Maisel, we find our dreams rotting inside a prison cell. Call it exhaustion. Critism. FOMO. Or let's be real, exestential awareness? Life is short. If art is a death sentence, how could it be worth it? Unless.

(I have commitment issues lol 😆) but I've been thinking of narrowing down my videos into a tighter genre of ideas. I'd love to know which kind of videos brought you to this channel and if you'd prefer a more consistent style in the future.
