This is PILOT WATCH GOUGE... where function in the cockpit, meets obsession on our wrists... Just honest intel for pilots, and watch nerds alike.
Dedicated to exploring the fascinating intersection between aerospace and watches. We’ll dig deep into pilot watches, both vintage and modern... and sometimes... the stories no one else is telling.
Pilot Watch Gouge
I called it. Then I held it.
450 pieces. Sold out day one.
Monday, Breitling made it official: the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II. Blue meteorite dial — cut from actual extraterrestrial rock. No two dials alike. Steel. Manual-wind B02 movement. 450 pieces. $11,900.
I got hands-on with this sneak peek, a few hours before it was announced. That review is live now.
If you're catching up — start with Friday's episode for the full story of every watch aboard that capsule. Thirteen watches. Four astronauts. Then hit Monday's video for the watch Breitling is finally allowed to talk about.
Welcome home, Artemis II. And well played, Breitling.

Pilot Watch Gouge
Before there were apps, before there were flight computers — there was cardboard.
This is the Apollo 8 Mission Timeline Analyser from 1968. Omega-branded, included in every NASA press kit for the first lunar orbit mission. Rotate the disc, read the mission phase, the event, the elapsed time. It’s a cardboard slide rule for tracking humans going around the Moon.
After Apollo 8, IBM took over sponsorship of these analysers. But this first one? Pure Omega.
Why does this matter for a pilot watch channel? That’s tomorrow’s episode.

So... episode 21 turned out not to be what I thought it would be. I believe the term for this is, my plan was, "overcome by events."
Episode 21: 2026 BENRUS Sky Chief in Cirrus White (ref SKY-SS-W-036-01)
@benrus was nice enough to send me a loaner of their just-released 2026 re-issue of the legendary Sky Chief, a once very popular watch with pilots and airlines... that everyone forgot ever existed.
So I put everything on hold... and got this one out as fast as I could after flying with it for a week. (@wornandwound beat me to the FIRST real review here on YouTube by like 4 days.) The backstory on this watch is fascinating... but what I found after banging around with it on the flight deck was wild.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. Thanks for watching!

Family reunion: the Pilot Automatic met its great-grandpa here in the Zenith HQ archives today!
A fascinating and educational afternoon rummaging through the archives, design studio, production floors, and (not kidding) attic of the historic Zenith headquarters here in Lo Locle, Switzerland today. 🇨🇭
Got to meet some dedicated craftsmen, and handle some historic watches from the dawn on the category.

Breitling re-branding the Navitimer as a racing chronograph is wild. 🤪

🚨 New Christopher Ward C60 Clipper GMT
Full 📺 review dropped early this morning 🥱 so I’m posting about it here in case you missed it!
https://youtu.be/zRvv7HqB4cM
Christopher Ward just dropped their Pan Am collaboration — the C60 Clipper GMT — and this video is the first look right as the embargo lifts.
707 pieces (of course), 42mm Light-catcher case, 300m WR, SW330-2 GMT, and the star of the show is the 24-click IATA airport-code bezel that works as a quick worldtimer. Key West (EYW) gets the red highlight, the seconds hand swaps CW’s trident for a little Clipper plane, and it ships on the Bader bracelet with push-button micro-adjust plus a woven “seatbelt” strap.
I non-rev’d to London, did a six-hour Maidenhead HQ speedrun, then flew home with the prototype — including a couple of hilarious “period-correct mistakes” (yes, even the microfiber cloth blueprint has an original error… and they kept it).
If you’ve ever wanted jet-age travel vibes in a watch that still functions like a tool, this one’s worth a look.

Proving beyond a doubt, that ANY watch can be a pilot watch if you’re a badass.
