Ancient Order of Hibernians
On January 1, 1892, a 15-year-old girl from County Cork, Ireland, stepped off the SS Nevada and made history.
Her name was Annie Moore — the first immigrant ever processed at Ellis Island.
With her two younger brothers by her side, Annie represented the courage and hope of millions who would follow.
Today, statues of Annie stand in both Cobh, Ireland and Ellis Island, New York, forever linking two worlds — the land of her birth and the land of her dreams. ☘️
What do you think Annie felt in that moment — fear, excitement, or hope?

Irish Saint of the Week(Early Edition): From the Land of Saints and Scholars - St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, whose courage and faith are celebrated on December 26 — the Feast of St. Stephen.
In Ireland, the day is also known as Wren Boys Day, when children once paraded through towns carrying a wren (symbolizing Stephen’s betrayal) and singing songs in exchange for charity.
Though the custom has softened over time, the spirit of joy, remembrance, and generosity remains — a bridge between Ireland’s ancient traditions and its deep Christian faith. 🎶☘️
