Oh right, I almost forgot to briefly introduce the new album by Pepo Galán, Markus Guentner, and myself—titled "Obreel"—here...
It’s been available on Bandcamp for a month, and as of today, it’s also available in other stores and ready for streaming...
The CD is definitely classier than a Spotify link... :-)
You can find it here.

A short pause, and what it opens
I just returned from a few days by the sea.
No real agenda, no intention to “figure things out”, no pressure to turn time into something productive. Just being there: swimming, walking, listening, observing...

I was back at Salon Ambientu (Up To Date Festival) in Białystok for the second time, after first playing there in 2023. The festival has a very specific atmosphere for me - not only in terms of music, but also because of the people and the city itself. This time felt very open and easy from the beginning. I met some new people, reconnected with familiar faces, and spent a few days in a warm and welcoming environment...

There is a persistent idea that making music is a continuous process.
You sit down, you build, you arrange - and things move forward.
Sometimes that is true.
But more often, the process breaks into phases...

Over the past years, my focus has gradually shifted towards more reduced and introspective forms of sound - less driven by structure, more by subtle internal movement.
My new 10” EP Lurk, released on the Polish label FOMO_, continues this direction. The record is part of the label’s Thresholds series, which explores transitional states...

What remains after a sound fades?
Vestige explores traces — subtle presences between ambient space and dub-infused detail. Minimal sound particles expand into vast atmospheres where microscopic shifts in frequency carry unexpected weight.
Rhythm appears as quiet momentum within the texture — movement without insistence, tension suspended between motion and stillness.

Today, we kick off our month-long Joachim Spieth residency. As usual, I’d like to start at the beginning. Perhaps not at the outset of Joachim’s career (that we will discuss in depth on Headphone Community throughout March), but when I technically “discovered” this Stuttgart-based German electronic musician. His music originally appeared here in 2020, with an exclusive premiere of the track “Jiwa”. From that point on, I was pulled into the undercurrent of his deeply atmospheric sound, and I never looked back. On Ousia, Joachim captivated my mind with a dreamlike environment, deep and calm, wide and open, like a limitless ocean spreading into the outer and infinite, distant and unknown. So I’m putting on this album in the background as I write this, and I think you should as well.
