As a licensed, practicing attorney, my goal is to provide commentary & information on noteworthy legal & true crime cases, such as the 2014 murder of FSU law professor Dan Markel & DC lawyer Robert Wone's 2006 murder. Some content will be on the lighter side with comedy. This channel is dedicated in memory of George C. Lin, the founder of the DC APA Film Festival and president of the San Diego AA Film Festival, who encouraged me to continue making creative works as a form of empowerment. "Asian American Focus" was a public access television show produced through The Peoples Channel (Channel 8) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from 2001-2008. Guests were notable local and out-of-town community leaders, artists, writers, and scholars with an "Asian American Focus." Thank you to Matthew Burke, the late director of the station, for allowing us to produce the show.

Closing arguments have ended in the trial of Larry Millete in San Diego for the murder of his wife Maya. Maya, a mother of 3 who had recently called a divorce lawyer, disappeared in January 2021, and her body has not been found. @dawndacquisto has had excellent coverage of the case for years. Unfortunately, this trial is not being livestreamed, but the San Diego local news has been covering it extensively.

"Unconfirmed reports of a new deal for Magbanua recently surfaced on YouTube, with conversations spilling over onto Facebook. The reports surfaced in the run-up to the 12th anniversary of Markel’s murder.
Asked by the Democrat whether she asked Leon Circuit Judge Stephen Everett to vacate her sentence, she [Cappleman] replied, “I have not asked Everett to vacate anything.” She also was asked whether she is considering such an ask.
“It is a legal possibility,” she said via text message. “No comment on what I’m considering.”"

Any rumors of Katie Magbanua getting out soon are just rumors. Georgia Cappleman definitely did not say that at the Dan Markel CLE in March. She only hinted that maybe sometime Katie might get a deal. I discussed it extensively with the help of @ThisIsLeslieB on Friday in a members' only livestream, as well as the previous weekend. Cappleman: "But another point to your question, is it's one thing to flip a, a, accused person and have them testify against their code. We do that all the time. But to flip somebody that's been convicted and serving life is a totally other animal that I've really never wrangled and hoped to never have to. Uh, I did feel compelled in this case to do that with Katie. Uh, so the question is what will ultimately become of her, which I don't really know the answer, you know, but that was really unusual for us to backtrack on that, because in order to give her any kind of consideration for her cooperation, we would have to set aside the jury's verdict, you know, and that's a big, the jury worked hard on that and I just-- that really [makes a cutting sound] gives me heartburn, but they'll probably understand. Let's hope."
