Sub Lieutenant Anshu Rathore, a 23-year-old officer in the Indian Navy, tragically passed away on April 5, 2026, following a road accident in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The Accident :
Circumstances: The young officer was traveling to her new posting at INS Valsura after completing her naval training in Pune.

The Crash :
Her vehicle collided with another car; she reportedly died instantly from her injuries.
Survivors : Two other officers traveling with her survived the crash.

Legacy and Final Farewell Background : Hailing from Bithuda village in Rajasthan's Didwana district, she was the first woman in five generations of her family to serve as a commissioned officer. She had joined the Navy in 2024 after clearing the entrance exam on her first attempt.

Honours :
She was laid to rest with full military honours in her ancestral village.
Public Tribute : A massive 14-kilometre-long Tiranga Yatra (tricolour procession) was held from Didwana to Bithura, attended by thousands of people paying their final respects.

Family :
Her younger brother, Bhupesh Singh, performed the last rites while Navy officers presented the national flag to her father, Kishan Singh. 💐🙏🇮🇳
