Today, I joined colleagues at Downing Street to call for urgent fair funding for hospices.

Hospices provide compassionate care and vital support to patients and their families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Yet many are now facing significant financial pressures and growing uncertainty.

Nearly 60% of hospices across England are considering cuts to frontline services.

The Government must bring forward a clear and sustainable funding model to help safeguard these essential services and ensure they remain available for those who need them, now and in the future.

The Croft is looking absolutely beautiful in the sunshine today - the kind of glorious weather we have all been waiting for!

As many of you have been enjoying the weather across Aldridge-Brownhills, it is worth noting that it also happens to be #NationalSunscreenDay. While we want to make the most of this heatwave, please do take care out there. I want to encourage all local residents to stay fully protected in the sun and keep well hydrated.

Enjoy the wonderful weather safely.

It was a simple yes or no answer that I was hoping for - yet this Labour Government refused to commit to extending the fuel duty relief.

At a time when families and businesses across Aldridge-Brownhills are feeling the pinch, this is a massive blow.

Rest assured I will keep fighting for a fair deal for our drivers, even when some Parties don’t bother to show up in the House of Commons.

Aldridge-Brownhills stands with Sean Egan!

This morning, I was on GB News continuing to speak up and air our collective frustration at what looks like the incredibly unfair dismissal of our Aldridge Morrisons Store Manager, Sean Egan.

For preventing a well-known shoplifter, an action that helps reduce the cost of goods for everyone during a cost-of-living crisis, I know many residents across Aldridge-Brownhills are immensely grateful to Sean.

Sean’s character speaks for itself. He will be running from Bilston Morrisons to Aldridge to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice, tomorrow. This is a charity we hold so close to our hearts as a community, and his dedication to it shows the type of person Sean is - selfless and community-minded!

I have already written to the Chief Executive of Morrisons to express my concerns and those of the local community.

Tomorrow morning, I will be attending the peaceful protest to show my full support for our community and for Sean. Will you be joining?

This Labour Government’s approach to protecting our precious Green Belt was laid bare when I asked my question in Parliament!

Steve Reed campaigned against building on Green spaces in his area, and others, and then forces through building on green spaces when in Government.

As ever it is one rule for Labour and another for the rest of us.

Yesterday's press conference by the Prime Minister yet again fails to fully explain how we will achieve energy security and how this Government is going to help the cost of living crisis being felt by so many of my Aldridge-Brownhills constituents.

Indeed, no Minister in this Labour Government appears capable of answering where the elusive £300 cut in energy bills promised at the General Election is coming from.
Only last week in the House of Commons I pressed Ministers on this and yet again today they have failed to answer.

Kemi Badenoch has set out a clear plan which starts with issuing licenses to drill in the North Sea to help hard pressed families at the current time.

It was fantastic to visit BK Plus in Aldridge and see firsthand how this incredible business is making a real difference - locally and nationally. With over 1,000 people employed across 57 offices, including 100 staff right here in Aldridge, BK Plus is a shining example of a business rooted in its community while delivering national impact.

From supporting SMEs with dedicated funding, to providing a full suite of business support, BK Plus combines local knowledge with national expertise. 80% of their clients are within 10 miles, and all services are delivered locally by local people, creating opportunities through employment and training, including 75 apprentices nationwide.

Thank you to the team for the warm welcome!

For many years, I have been banging the drum about the need for major investment into #Brownhills. That is why I am absolutely delighted to announce that £20 million has now been awarded to our town through the Pride in Place fund!

What makes this funding special is that it is led by local people. It’s about your ideas for our area - whether that’s improving our pavements, revitalising our busy High Street, or enhancing our local green spaces. This is a massive win for Brownhills, and I can’t wait to see these local ideas come to life.

Once there is more information, I will share that for residents to stay informed. Let me know in the comments what you would like to see in Brownhills!
