My Top Ten Anime of Spring 2026:

1.) Dorohedoro Season 2 - One of the best and most unique anime that I've ever seen. I was lukewarm on season 1 but Season 2 was just incredible and so different from any anime airing right now. Looking forward to the confirmed third season.
2.) Re Zero Season 4 - Easily the best arc of the Re Zero anime so far. Bring on the second half in August.
3.) Witch Hat Atelier Season 1 - An anime with some of the strongest production quality that I've ever seen, and the writing and world building to back it up. If the anime continues its current animation quality this could go down as one of the greatest anime ever made. Looking forward to the confirmed second season.
4.) Daemons of the Shadow Realm Season 1 - From the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist and returning Studio Bones, we have another interesting series. Some will say that it's not as good as full metal (which is true, but how many anime are?), but I'd actually say that these first twelve episodes have been stronger than Fullmetal's first twelve. Given that they're choosing to adapt this anime essentially one for one, it all comes down to how well the story plays out in future episodes. Looking forward to the second half in summer.
5.) Nippon Sangoku Season 1 - Potentially the best looking anime this season which is no mean feat given Witch Hat. Sometimes an overly complicated show and one that I wish spent a bit more time on its two leads, but one that was still very compelling and did a good job getting you invested in characters from different factions. Also has one of my favourite antagonists in anime. Hope the rumours of season 2 are true after that cliffhanger.
6.) Wistoria Wand and Sword Season 2 - From the creator of Danmachi comes his superior follow-up effort. Wistoria continues to be a very fun action show and I'm excited for the confirmed season 3.
7.) Go For It, Nakamura-kun! Season 1 - A really well animated romantic comedy about a boy who loves another boy who most certainly doesn't feel the same way back. At least right now. With the show making the correct decision to focus on the comedy over the romance, this is a show that anyone can enjoy. And I say that as a straight dude.
8.) The Ramparts of Ice Season 1 - From the creator of You and I are Polar Opposites comes their much more serious work. Didn't quite click with me as much as their cuter series but at the same time, no anime grew on me more this season than The Ramparts of Ice. Sometimes a little too serious for its own good, but the main relationship between the leads developed surprisingly naturally given how they both began this anime.
9.) Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring Season 1 - From the creator of Violet Evergarden, a beautiful show from Wit Studio. If its ending (which was not bad) was better, it would be higher.
10.) Kill Blue Season 1 - One of the most generic anime that I've ever enjoyed. From the creator of Kuroko's Basketball comes essentially a highlight reel of every anime cliche. Yet sometimes it's nice to relive those highlights and I enjoyed doing that here.

Honourable Mentions: Marriagetoxin (looking forward to Season 2), Botan Kamiina fully blossoms when drunk (didn't watch) and Dr Stone Final Season (need to catch up.)

Let me know what your favourite anime this season were.

Here are my top ten anime of Winter 2026:
1.) Frieren Season 2 - Only issue is that it was too short. Looking forward to the confirmed season 3 next year.
2.) Journal with Witch Season 1 - Almost my number 1 anime this season. Very human show tackling grief and living up to expectations. Only let down by the fact that, even though there's only enough manga material left for a second season, I'm doubtful we'll get it.
3.) Sentenced to be a hero Season 1 - Really surprised this took my third spot over JJK. But the finale was fantastic, and it was an action-lite episode! Loved all the characters. Good worldbuilding. It's not the most complicated anime in the world but it has incredible execution. Looking forward to the confirmed season 2.
4.) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - As someone who is not a big Jujutsu Kaisen fan, this was incredible. Every episode was memorable and the Yuta fight will go down as one of the best things that I've seen in an anime. Looking forward to the confirmed fourth season.
5.) Hell's Paradise Season 2 - I liked this a lot more than season 1 and I really liked season 1. The action and animation was a lot stronger than before. In particular the 4 vs 2 fight in the middle of the season. Season 3 isn't yet confirmed but considering there's some form of announcement coming later this year and season 3 would cover the rest of the manga, it's likely that we'll get confirmation of a continuation soon.
6.) Oshi no ko Season 3 - Probably my favourite season so far. The show got even darker and finally focused on Ruby's characterisation. Really looking forward to the fourth and final season.
7.) Medalist Season 2 - Love Medalist! Like Frieren, this was too short. Only nine episodes! Looking forward to the movie that's coming soon.
8.) Golden Kamuy Final Season - Would be higher had they not blue balled me and told me that this wasn't actually the final season after binging everything to get caught up. Looking forward to the continuation next winter.
9.) You and I are polar opposites season 1 - Just a nice, really sweet show. Looking forward to season 2 (and probably final season) in the summer.
10.) Shiboyugi Season 1 - Really artsy. Really different. Really unique. Heard that manga/light novel readers weren't completely happy with the direction the adaptation took. I believe the manga/light novel is more straightforward, less abstract. But as an anime only I really loved it. Looking forward to the movie that's coming soon.

A really, really strong season. Didn't get to see everything (for example: Fate Strange/Fake, Fire Force Final Season, Beastars Final Season.) So let me know if there were any gems that I missed and what your favourite anime this season were.
