“Obedience to G-d Is Greater Than One’s Own Life”

This week’s Torah portion reminds us of a powerful truth:

following G-d requires complete obedience.

Before Moses’ death,

HaShem gave him one final command.

Moses knew his time was coming to an end,

yet he did not delay.

He chose obedience over himself.

This teaches every believer

to focus not on the length of life,

but on faithfully completing the work G-d has entrusted to us.

Through Messiah Yeshua,

we can live with confidence,

knowing that our hope goes beyond this world.

The question for each of us is:

“Am I living for myself,

or am I faithfully obeying the purpose G-d has given me?”

📖 This Shabbat, remember:

Those who belong to G-d are called to trust Him, obey Him, and serve Him until the end.

Torah Portion: Pinchas
Torah Reading: Numbers 25:10–30:1
Prophetic Reading: Jeremiah 1:1–2:3

“Counted Among the People of G-d”

This week's Torah portion reminds us that being counted among the people of G-d is more than a number—

it reflects identity,
responsibility,
and covenant.

When Moses was instructed to take a new census of Israel,

every man counted
met specific qualifications.

These requirements pointed beyond the physical—

they revealed spiritual truths
that still speak to us today.

To be counted,

they had to reach maturity,

be willing to serve,

and have left Egypt behind.

Spiritually, this reminds every believer

to grow in faith,

to faithfully serve G-d,

and to reject the values of the world.

Scripture repeatedly calls us

to live differently,

walking according to the standards of G-d's Kingdom

rather than the ways of this present age.

The question for each of us is not simply,

"Am I part of the crowd?"

but rather,

"Am I living as someone who belongs to the family of G-d?"

📖 This Shabbat, remember:

Those who belong to G-d are called to spiritual maturity, faithful service, and a life separated unto Him.

Torah Portion: Balak
Torah Reading: Numbers 22:2–25:9
Prophetic Reading: Micah 5:6–6:8

“G-d Is Not Done With Israel”

This week's Torah portion reveals a powerful truth:

G-d's covenant with Israel
has not been cancelled or replaced.

Despite every attempt to curse His people,
G-d remained faithful to His promises.

“A star shall come from Jacob,
and a scepter shall rise from Israel.”
(Numbers 24:17)

Balaam was hired to curse Israel,
but G-d turned every curse into a blessing.

This teaches us:

What G-d has established,
no man can overturn.

Even when nations oppose Israel,
His purposes continue to move forward.

The Scriptures remind us that the Messiah will return
and fulfill every promise spoken concerning Israel.

Today, many question Israel's role in G-d's plan—

but the Bible repeatedly affirms
His faithfulness to His covenant.

G-d is not finished with Israel.

And because He keeps His promises,
we can trust Him to keep His promises to us as well.

📖 This Shabbat, remember:

What G-d blesses cannot ultimately be cursed,
and His covenant purposes will stand forever.

Torah Portion: Behaalotecha (When you light)
Torah Reading: Numbers 8:1–12:16
Prophetic Reading: Zechariah 2:14–4:7

“The Light That Must Shine Before the World”

This week’s Torah portion begins
with a command concerning the menorah.

Aaron was instructed to lift up the lamps
so their light would shine forward.

This was not merely about illumination.

It was a spiritual message.

Israel was called to be a light
that reflected the holiness,
truth, and presence of HaShem.

But immediately after this command,
the Scriptures remind us of something important:

light requires purity.

The Levites were cleansed and set apart
for service before the L-rd.

Why?

Because holy service cannot be separated
from holiness itself.

Later in this portion,
the people begin to complain,
desire the things of Egypt,
and reject the provision of HaShem.

Instead of walking in gratitude,
they allowed dissatisfaction
to darken their hearts.

This reveals a powerful truth:

Spiritual light diminishes
when people focus more on the world
than on the purposes of G-d.

Even Miriam and Aaron
spoke against Moses,
and HaShem responded swiftly,
showing that He alone establishes authority
and calls people according to His will.

“Not so with My servant Moses;
he is faithful in all My house.”
Numbers 12:7

This Torah portion teaches us
that the light of HaShem is not sustained
through emotion, tradition, or human strength.

It shines through obedience,
humility, and faithfulness.

Messiah Yeshua declared:

“I am the light of the world.”

And those who follow Him
are called to walk in that same light
with holiness and truth.

🕊️ This Shabbat, remember:
The light of G-d was never meant
to remain hidden.

It was given so the world
could see His truth through His people.

Shavuot – Feast of Weeks
The Counting of the Omer
Leviticus 23:15–16

“Freedom to Do the Will of G-d”

This special biblical study focuses
on the meaning of Shavuot
and the counting of the Omer.

When Scripture speaks about
counting the fifty days
between First Fruits and Shavuot,
it does not give fixed calendar dates.

Why?

Because HaShem desired His people
to follow His appointed pattern,
not human tradition.

“And you will count for yourselves
from the day after the Shabbat…”
Leviticus 23:15

The counting of the Omer
points to something much greater
than simply measuring time.

It reveals a spiritual journey.

The number fifty
is directly connected
to the concept of Jubilee.

Freedom.
Liberty.
Release.

“And you will sanctify the fiftieth year
and proclaim liberty in the land…”
Leviticus 25:10

This is why Shavuot
is deeply connected
to the work of the Holy Spirit.

After Yeshua rose from the dead
on First Fruits,
the disciples counted fifty days.

Then, on Shavuot,
the Holy Spirit was given.

Why is this so important?

Because the Holy Spirit
was not given
so believers could live without truth.

He was given
so believers could walk
in obedience to the will of G-d.

True freedom
is not freedom from holiness.

True freedom
is the ability to serve G-d faithfully.

The Torah was given at Sinai.

The Holy Spirit was later given
to empower believers
to live according to the character of G-d.

This teaches us a powerful truth:

The purpose of redemption
is transformation.

HaShem does not save us
so we remain unchanged.

He calls us
to reflect His character
through obedience, faith,
and reverence.

🕊️ This Shavuot, remember:

The Holy Spirit was not given
to remove G-d’s standards—

but to empower His people
to walk in them.

Torah Portion: Bamidbar (In the Wilderness)
Torah Reading: Numbers 1:1–4:20
Prophetic Reading: Hosea 2:1–22

“One Truth for All People”

This week’s Torah portion begins the book of Numbers
with a census of the tribes of Israel.

But one tribe is treated differently:

the Levites.

They were not counted with the rest of Israel,
because they had been set apart
for the service of the Tabernacle.

Among them, the family of K’hat
received a very sacred responsibility:

to carry the most holy objects
of the Tabernacle.

But before they could do their work,
Aaron and his sons had to cover the Ark.

Why?

Because even those chosen for holy service
were not permitted to look upon
what HaShem had commanded to remain hidden.

“This is the work of the sons of K’hat
in the Tent of Meeting, the Holy of Holies…”
Numbers 4:4

This teaches us a serious truth:

G-d’s instructions are not based
on human opinion, culture, or position.

They are based on His holiness.

The same command that applied to Israel
also brought consequences upon others
who looked upon the Ark without permission.

This reminds us that truth is not true
only when we know it, agree with it,
or understand it.

HaShem’s truth is universal.

Many people today say,
“I did not know,”
or “That does not apply to me.”

But Scripture teaches that G-d’s standards
are not created by human awareness.

They are revealed by His character.

Grace is real.
Mercy is real.
Forgiveness is real.

But none of these cancel the holiness of G-d.

Messiah Yeshua does not call us
to treat truth lightly.

He calls us to walk in reverence,
discernment, and obedience.

🕊️ This Shabbat, remember:
Truth is not personal preference—
it is the holy standard of HaShem
for all people.
