WELL….HOW BOUT THAT….WE HAVE A SHOW SCHEDULED AND A HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
Monday at 10 am CDT/15z.
I do see the possibility of storms in the forecast for DFW so we might have to move to our alternate airport of DAL. I am extremely grateful we have multiple airports here.
But for now we will plan on D-F-W.
Don’t forget to pre like 👍 and hit the thumbs up button for the show.
I look forward to seeing you all.
Don’t forget that in the United States we celebrate Fathers Day Sunday so a very happy Father’s Day to all including Mi Padre.
BACK IN DFW. And since I drive right by Founders Plaza on the way home to Frisco, I did indeed make a brief pop-up broadcast for a few hours at DFW. It was GREAT to be back.
Thanks everyone who did stop by for the couple of hours.
Our next scheduled show will be Monday, June 22nd with time and location TBD.
It was a rough day weather wise in DFW, as I counted close to 100 diversions between DFW and DAL airports due to the weather.
Shout Out to Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City they get a shout out for handling 16 diversions by my count INCLUDING a 747-400 AND Finnair A350!
Fun stuff.
Thanks for the support. It's great to be back On the Air.
IF YOU ARE FLYING TO OR FROM INDIANAPOLIS OR CHICAGO, CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING
See that giant hole with no airplanes? That is called the Circle of Delays in the aviation world. It's because of that circle that you have to fly around it....because those are thunderstorms. And thunderstorms and planes don't mix.
If you are traveling to Indianapolis, Chicago Midway or O'Hare....may God have mercy on your soul because Delays WILL happen and Diversions WILL happen.
Main chaos will occur between 19z and 02z.
This is your LAST CHANCE to change flight plans or buy snacks before you get stuck.
I predict 30 diversions at ORD, 36 diversions at MDW and 7 diversions at IND.
If you are a plane spotter, be on HIGH alert especially MKE, MSN, STL and MSP.
Carry on and back to regularly scheduled programming.
Oh...and my interviews went well yesterday. We will see.
PACKING THINGS UP WHILE UNPACKING THINGS/TWA GLORIES OF THE PAST
I have a busy Tuesday with TWO interviews while still packing up since my lease runs out on Wednesday LOL.
So basically, I am a gypsy with a chance to head back to Texas for a couple of weeks. This COULD be why I can't settle down with a nice lady.
Do you know what I would rather do? Run for President and broadcast all over this country. Perhaps I can do one at a time.
But here's another fine sketch of American's TWA retro making its appearance at TUS.
Also, I've said I've gotten on a diversion kick lately but Monday was a pretty quiet day. Looking at the charts and weather for Tuesday, we might have some midwestern chaos but it's kind of early to tell.
When is my next show? Great question. Perhaps as soon as this Friday on Dallas somewhere.
WE HAVE A LATE ENTRANT INTO THE AMERICA 250 SPECIAL LIVERY CATEGORY....THANKS FOR SHOWING UP UNITED
This to me is noteworthy because United is the party pooper of special liveries in my opinion. They NEVER do anything so my question to you is...will you forgive United now after years of minimal effort in their special livery category? 😂😂😂
My apologies for my bias...but HOW can you accept a sticker as an appropriate livery for 100 years of greatness?!?!?!? Here is United's instagram link to the new livery that is on the 737-800 and 787-10
You know what I love? Photos like this. A plane spotter at little ole Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport catching a Lufthansa 787 diverting from the #1 busiest airport in the world, Atlanta Hartsfield.
Gotta love the unexpected. And little ole BHM with its almost 60 daily arrivals served SIXTEEN in a matter of a couple of hours after they all diverted from the ATL due to weather.
I've been on a diversion kick lately and I don't know why. But I love it! It keeps things fresh and fun.
I counted over 100+diversions Sunday all along the Eastern Time Zone all relating to weather including 37 from ATL and 10 from DTW.
UPDATED 10:41p.m. Congrats to Birmingham...you win the "hosting most diversions in a day award for June 14th."
ATL gets the worst weather/airspace award for diverting 37 flights. 1. ATL-37 2. LGA-21 3. EWR-21
Now that I don't have to deal with the chaos of being a Flight Dispatcher when IROPS happen, I can enjoy the unexpected a little more.
Two Questions.
-Where did you go when you had to divert due to weather? -And if you were plane spotting, what the most unique diversion you ever saw at your local airport?
I'm not an expert when it comes to knowledge of military aircraft, but one thing I know for sure is the A-10 Warthog is my favorite fighter jet. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
We are fortunate to have them stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and I always had to catch them when they stopped by at TUS.
If I could, I would buy one and it would follow me everywhere. If I got married, my wife would have to agree to never get rid of the A-10 in our marriage. That's how much I love this plane.
What is your favorite military fighter jet? Let me know. I hope you enjoy the sketch.
Happy Sunday/Monday
Sincerely,
-The Pipster
P.S. Congrats to the New York Knicks for winning the NBA Championship and the Carolina Hurricanes for winning the Stanley Cup.
Today I said my goodbyes to Tucson International Airport. 17 months goes by pretty quick as an airside operations officer 👮.
I am now officially a free agent.(unemployed)
I mention that because I now have some free time to be your servant. Let me know if you need your lawn mowed. lol.
In the meantime I have a couple things in the works.
1. An interview this week for another position inside the Tucson Airport 2. An interview for another airport(that will remain nameless for now) 3. A massive tour with Taylor Swift across America.
Okay….maybe not with Taylor swift but a massive tour is potentially in the works
So stick with me cause things will get wild and crazy very soon in the funnest way possible.
This man below is still on the loose for photobombing at Paine Field. Please report any tips you have to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office

THE HIATUS IS ALMOOOST OVER...PIP WILL BE BACK ON THE AIR!
I took a break from posting sketches of my favorite Tucson visitors as I had to pack up and get on the road.
I am back in the great state of Texas but not quite home. I should be arriving Friday afternoon and will look forward to being back in the metroplex.
No guarantees on a show for Friday, but possible. Saturday is certainly an option.
HOWEVER, come Monday June 21 it is full speed ahead while I wait for further info on my interviews.
Be prepared for minimum Monday, Wednesday and Friday nonstop broadcasting action(weather cooperating)
Unless something dramatic happens, expect to join me MONDAY for our first broadcast in over a month. I very much look forward to it.
Maybe United Stars and Stripes will divert...doubful, but a cool excuse nonetheless to share the cool design again.
Talk with y'all soon.
Sincerley,
