Summer is here, and so are the golden days of apĂ©ritifs and picnics! 🌞
What’s better than a slice of crusty baguette or a warm Fougasse topped with 100% plant-based black olive tapenade?

My version captures the authentic, briny depth of traditional tapenade—without a single anchovy. I’ve crafted a secret paste to bring the essence of the Mediterranean sea to this iconic dish, proving that vegan can be just as rich and irresistible.

This is “La Pichade”

A delightful tomato tart from Menton, a charming city on the French Riviera near the Italian border. While it’s close to a pizza, it’s actually a unique tomato-based tart with a special crust — somewhere between bread and brioche. Crispy, smooth, and irresistibly crumbly! 😋

This version is the “Pichade au MaquĂ©â€ — traditionally made with anchovy paste. I have created a vegan anchovy substitute. So I made it. and the result was superb!

Last September, I had a slice of Pichade while traveling in Nice. I made a video of my trip there. You can check the video at this link: https://youtu.be/Gk6u6ftKMs0

Let me know in the comments if you would like me to film the recipe of this tomato tart!

Have you ever tasted the legendary Tarte TropĂ©zienne? This iconic cake from Provence is a must-try, especially as summer approaches. Imagine a light, fluffy brioche sprinkled with crunchy pearl sugar, filled with a cloud-like orange blossom cream—so delicate, it melts in your mouth.

This sun-kissed delight was popularized by Brigitte Bardot herself after she discovered it in Saint-Tropez. And now, I’m bringing you a vegan version inspired by the non-vegan masterpiece of Chef CĂ©dric Grolet—but elevated to gastronomic perfection. This version intensifies the flavors to a level that will brighten your summer table and ravish your guests.

✹This is your Summer Showstopper: Perfect for picnics, garden parties, or any celebration. This cake is a masterpiece of a cake that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.

đŸŒ±đŸŠ A Plant-Based Reunion: Celebrating Togetherness with Tradition & Twist đŸČ✹

In Chinese culture, the Reunion Dinner (ć›ąćœ†é„, tuĂĄnyuĂĄnfĂ n) is more than a meal—it’s a heartfelt celebration of family, unity, and the promise of a prosperous year ahead. Held on Lunar New Year’s Eve, this feast is steeped in symbolism: every dish carries wishes for health, wealth, and happiness.

This year, I wanted to honor this beautiful tradition while staying true to my plant-based journey. So, I reimagined these classic dishes—all 100% vegan—to bring the flavors of Chinese cuisine, where I live currently, and a touch of modern creativity to the table. Here is what I've cooked:

🌿 1. Buddha’s Delight (LO HON JAAI)
A medley of 18+ vegetables and tofu, representing harmony and compassion. Traditionally eaten on the first day of the New Year, it’s a dish of purity and renewal.

🍋 2. Sweet & Sour Tofu (GĆ«lu doufu)
Crispy tofu bathed in a glossy, tangy sauce—a playful twist on the classic sweet and sour pork, proving that plant-based can be just as indulgent.

đŸŒ± 3. Sweet & Sour Cauliflower (TEEM SYUN YE CHOI FA)
A bright, zesty dish that brings the joy of contrast —just like the balance we seek in life.

🍍 4. Pineapple Curry (PAJELIS ONG LAI)
A vibrant, tangy-sweet curry where pineapple symbolizes prosperity and good luck—because who doesn’t want a year filled with sweetness?

đŸ„Ź 5. Blanched Spinach with Sesame Sauce (MĂĄjiĂ ng bocĂ i)
Simple, fresh, and dressed in a nutty sesame embrace—because even the humblest greens deserve a moment in the spotlight.

đŸ„ž 6. Pan-Fried Tofu Skin Cakes (DĂČupi bĂźng)
Golden, crispy, and layered with umami—these little cakes are a nod to abundance and texture, a must-have for any festive spread.

🌾 7. Lotus Root Soup with Dried Mushrooms & Peanuts (JiĂ ntÄ© liĂĄnoutăng)
A comforting bowl of earthy flavors, where lotus root symbolizes continuous growth and prosperity—perfect for welcoming the new year.

đŸ„ 8. Mango Pomelo Sago (YEUNG JI GAM LO)
A refreshing, tropical dessert to end the feast on a sweet, citrusy note—because every reunion deserves a happy ending.

🍰 9.Fenetra tart. This is an apricot filled tart with candied lemon peel and a meringue folded with almond powder, layered on a short crust pastry base.

P.S.If you’d like the recipes or tips for hosting your own plant-based reunion, let me know—I’d be happy to share! 🌟

I've just posted a new video of a condiment forgotten recipe, that is beyond anything I've ever tasted in Provençal cuisine: The Black Pesto! It's extraordinarily flavorful and boost your soups with savory, floral, sweet and briny notes. This a must have condiment of winter. It keeps for weeks, well covered in olive oil. My Vegan Provence

I recently found old photos of my mother and me from when we were living in HyĂšres, a lovely coastal city in the south of France, by the Mediterranean Sea. They brought back so many memories of that gentle, unhurried life, blessed with perfect weather. I also remembered my mother, always preparing traditional dishes for religious celebrations.

My next cooking video is inspired by one of those celebrations — a special one that children especially love.
