THE FISHERMAN FILM

Producer Kofi Owusu-Afriyie’s Luu Vision Media brings new feature film, The Fisherman, to the 81st La Biennale Venice Film Festival after producing the short film which streamed on HBO Max. The film marked Ghana’s first official selection in the festival and had a very successful premiere with a sold out run and standing ovation. Although the film ran out of competition, it was awarded the Fellini Medal by UNESCO’s Enrico Fulchignoni Prize!


"The 36th edition, this Prix can be considered the most significant cinematographic acknowledgement awarded by ICFT- UNESCO to the movie presented at the Venice International Film Festival best representing the values of peace and tolerance promoted by UNESCO."


The film was produced and shot in Ghana, and features many of Ghana’s star talents including Endurance Grand, Ricky Adeleyitar, William Lamptey and Kiki Romi, as well as Nigerian comedian Dulo Harris. It also features Fred Amugi, Roselyn Ngissah, Dorothy Konadu, Mynna Otoo, Adjeezay, Adwoa Akoto, Princess Fathia Nkrumah, Papa Osei, Andrew Adote and Shadrack Agyare


The film is based on writer and director Zoey Martinson’s time living in Keta. It’s produced by Luu Vision Media run by King Luu and Kofi Owusu-Afriyie. Also produced by Korey Jackson, Cinematography by Adam Carboni, Costume Designer Gifty Mawuena Sossavi, Production designer Douglas Baiden, editor Jasmin Way, composer Avi Amon. Featuring VFX by Nurudeen Tahiru and Daria Amai Shelton. Casting by Mawuko Kuadzi
