देशातील आरोग्यसेवा क्षेत्रात महत्त्वपूर्ण घडामोड घडली असून ॲस्टर डीएम हेल्थकेअर इंडिया आणि क्वालिटी केअर इंडिया लिमिटेड यांच्या एकत्रीकरणातून ॲस्टर डीएम क्वालिटी केअर लिमिटेड या नव्या संस्थेची स्थापना झाली आहे. या एकत्रीकरणामुळे देशातील सर्वात मोठ्या एकात्मिक आरोग्यसेवा संस्थांपैकी एक अस्तित्वात आली असून, दर्जेदार आरोग्यसेवा अधिकाधिक नागरिकांपर्यंत पोहोचविण्याच्या दिशेने हा महत्त्वाचा टप्पा मानला जात आहे.
या नव्या संस्थेअंतर्गत देशातील नऊ राज्यांतील 28 शहरांमध्ये 39 रुग्णालये, 10 हजार 500 हून अधिक बेड्स आणि 45 हजारांहून अधिक डॉक्टर, परिचारिका तसेच कर्मचारी कार्यरत आहेत. आगामी काळात ही क्षमता वाढवून 15 हजार 500 हून अधिक बेड्स पर्यंत विस्तार करण्याचे नियोजन करण्यात आले आहे.
हे एकत्रीकरण केवळ दोन आरोग्यसेवा संस्थांचे विलीनीकरण नसून समान मूल्ये, उत्कृष्ट वैद्यकीय सेवा, रुग्णांप्रती असलेली संवेदनशीलता आणि जागतिक दर्जाची आरोग्यसेवा अधिकाधिक नागरिकांपर्यंत पोहोचविण्याच्या समान ध्येयाचा संगम असल्याचे संस्थेने म्हटले आहे.
या नव्या संस्थेच्या कार्यकारी अध्यक्षपदी संस्थापक अध्यक्ष डॉ. आझाद मोपेन यांची नियुक्ती करण्यात आली असून, व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक आणि समूहाचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी म्हणून वरुण खन्ना जबाबदारी स्वीकारणार आहेत. अनुभवी संचालक मंडळाच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली संस्था विस्ताराच्या नव्या पर्वात प्रवेश करणार आहे.
एका छोट्या दवाखान्यापासून सुरू झालेला ॲस्टरचा प्रवास आज देशातील अग्रगण्य एकात्मिक आरोग्यसेवा संस्थांपैकी एक होण्यापर्यंत पोहोचला आहे. भविष्यातही करुणामय, दर्जेदार आणि जागतिक स्तरावरील आरोग्यसेवा अधिकाधिक नागरिकांपर्यंत पोहोचवून निरोगी समाज घडविण्यासाठी संस्था कटिबद्ध असल्याचे यावेळी नमूद करण्यात आले.
