8/16/25 Fourth & Final day of motorcycle riding: Well, I delayed this post until today, 8/17, cause we had a long day yesterday. Let me explain. We started off at 7am in cooler weather as temperatures were supposed to get close to 100°. Richard Dinkela & Peggy Sue led the way as Bob & Rhonda Bowman couldn't make it riding the last day. We headed out to BIG Cedar Lodge, where the scenery was once again TOP NOTCH! We did find a little waterfall that we ran the bikes through and went back to search for a 2nd one. However, this time around Rich's back BRAKE WENT OUT, so we had to take it slow and easy back out to the top to find a gas station with a screw driver and oil. Whew! That got fixed, and we headed to Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery where we saw a conjoined black snake called "The Twins" and LOTS of trout before heading back towards home, stopping by Bob's project house to see how the work was coming along. We made it to camp by noon and ate lunch. In the meantime, my old friend, Dennis Elston, had seen my previous day's posts and mentioned he was reluctantly selling his Spyder RT. I had mentioned this to Rich and Peggy, who were still riding a 2-wheeler Harley. So after a bit of schedule coordination, all 6 of us were set to leave in our Excursion at 2:30pm when the engine started making a funny noise! It wouldn't even drive! We ended up taking 2 vehicles on the 55 min drive to Springfield area to look at Dennis' bike where Rich decided he was going to be the next proud owner of a 2016 Spyder RT much to Peggy's delight.
As we headed back to camp, we made plans on how to make it back home without our truck. We decided to load the Excursion onto Rich's trailer, leave our camper and the Harley in Forsyth load the trucks up with our trailer stuff & food and Jerry was to drive our Spyder 4 hours all the way home on the highway following Rich's truck & trailer. It took 1 1/2 - 2 hrs last night and another 2 hours this morning to empty and prep the trailer for the next mouse invasion.
I am currently sitting in air conditioned comfort in the back seat of Rich's Chevy headed back to Montgomery City to drop the truck at a shop, unload our stuff, then on to home, while Jerry rides in 97° weather behind us. Nope, I did NOT want to ride 4 hours on the highway until this heat.
YIKES 12:38pm, and we just ran into HEAVY rains. We JUST had enough time to get the raincoat out for Jerry, but he will be SOAKED! At least the temp just dropped to 71°. Lord, please, keep us all SAFE🙏
I will TRY to coordinate one of our children meeting us at the Diesel mechanics to off-load our stuff into a different vehicle before heading home. Let us all pray that we don't encounter ANY MORE ADVENTURES this weekend, and we all arrive home safely!

8/15 3rd day of motorcycle riding. Headed to the Peel ferry into AR today, but the road eventually turned into gravel, and we had to turn around so only out from 7-11am, but much cooler. Still beautiful views and good company. Now, last night, when I went to take a shower with the new shower head after Jerry, I got soaked up, and the water started puttering, then RAN OUT COMPLETELY! I had to dry off the soap bubbles, but at least I wasn't sweaty anymore. After coming home and eating lunch, we took a look at some land, took a nap, and toured Rich's land. Even went to look at 2 properties for sale. Saw some turkey, deer, owl, and a road runner, too! The neighbors had a freeze dried fawn that had died on their property. It was a 6 month process! We're still sitting outside at 8 pm. and still in the 80s. We'll head to BIG Cedar and the hatchery tomorrow.

8/14 - Day 2 on motorcycle trip: Destination was Eureka Springs, AR. Today, we left earlier at 8am and came back to camp at 2. MUCH nicer weather that way! Beautiful scenery, quaint town, good company. I DID FINALLY get to see some "water falling" today and a magnetic spring as well, along with a small, water snake basking in the sun. We stopped by Camping World on the way back for parts for the shower, but they didn't have what we needed, so we thought we would improvise. WELL, that ended up with a bigger hole in my wall and yet ANOTHER trip to Camping World (service desk had the correct washers this time) and Walmart for my prescription that my doctor called into the local store. On a good note, I got a little more sleep last night with Jerry, only waking me up 3 times, and I just decided to stay up at 6:12am.
We're gonna leave at 7 tomorrow morning to have more cool weather. Hopefully, there will be NO MORE Camping World or Walmart tomorrow 🙃

Teemaw-Diamond Painting with SPARKLERS
Day one destination of motorcycle ride: Jasper, AR = Grand Canyon of AR. Extremely dry and HOT, but beautiful scenery. Even ran into some rain for a bit that cooled us off, then back to heat. We spent the morning visiting, then were out from 12-7pm. A VERY LONG day, but a pleasant one meeting new friends and just being outside in the elements. I'm gonna try a different seat cushion as I was aching upon arriving at the camper. We ate supper, then off to shower, only to find out that the diversion plug for the shower was MISSING. So we washed our tired, sweaty bodies sitting in a tiny tub with a plastic cup, soap, and a rag. I couldn't even stand without falling in there cause it was such a SMALL area! Maybe the new Branson Camping World will have the part we need tomorrow? At least we DID have water and even hot water at that as the men took 30-45 minutes diagnosing a burned out, 18-yr old fuse last night! Thank goodness we had a spare in the truck. Of course that was AFTER making a 3rd trip to Camping World yesterday for a 2nd and 3rd fresh-water tank plug as the new one we purchased on Monday broke upon installation! ( I think we've replaced at least 8-10 items on the camper this week.) But it was BEFORE discovering that I left my night meds/supplements AT HOME! I've messaged my doctor and hope to not turn into a HOT MESS by the end of the week. And let's NOT FORGET the 12:30 am "bear scare" that I'll have to tell ya'll about on my next Friday Night YouTube live.
Oh we did NOT see any waterfalls as they are all dried up! And no elk were out as it was too hot.
So off to Eureka Springs earlier tomorrow as supposed to get to 95°!

I'm sorry that I didn't post that there was NO LIVE last night. We are in San Diego checking in on our Navy son, Josiah, as he was found in a catatonic state on Wednesday. He HAS come out of it, but we are limited to 3 hours of visitation and 2 people at a time today and tomorrow and only 2 hours during the weekday. We arrived starving and exhausted last night but are better this morning. Trying to decide what to do today as we await our visit with Josiah and what the days ahead hold
