Happy Birthday Smokey!

Smokey turns 2 today and it's been an amazing couple of years watching him grow from an 11 pound puppy when we got him at 9 weeks old to as the vet stated, "70 pounds of pure muscle".

We haven't posted a lot because the weather here has been terrible for trying to get to the park and work schedules never seem conducive to getting getting videos transferred and uploaded. As we head towards "summer" here in Northeast Ohio hopefully that will change.

We'll be celebrating Smokey's birthday this weekend and hope to get some photos and videos uploaded Sunday.

Hello and Happy Friday!

Just a quick update for today.

The Barking Browns Backers site (barkingbackers.com/) has updated and has Smokey listed as the Dog of the Month.

Of course Smokey is quite excited to be selected as the Dog of Month and has been pacing the kitchen all morning waiting for the site to update. (Or it could be because the sun is finally shining and it's started to warm up and he wants to go outside)

We got an email from the Barking Browns Backers this week that Smokey was picked to be their Dog of the Month for March. They will be releasing an announcement tomorrow and we'll try to get the release posted here tomorrow when we receive it with relevant links.

Things got a bit busier than anticipated for work last week and my wife took over upload duties to get a Valentine's Day short up for Smokey. Work is still busy but wanted to take some time out this morning just to thank everyone that's stopped by and subscribed. You motivate us to keep going.

The weather finally broke a little bit and we've had about a week without rain which means the backyard is starting to dry up and we've been able to get Smokey back into the woods without sinking up to our knees in the mud. He's missed playing in his sandbox and playing around on the old wood pile. He would stand at the gate and look back at the woods longingly when I would take him out on breaks from work. eventually things dried out enough so that we could go back there together after work. Still not dry enough to just let him run, but soon.

We'll be releasing a short tonight of him playing in the sandbox and with the woodpile. In the mean time here are a few photos of Smokey from February of last year when he was 7 months old. Let us know your favorites in the comments below.

Welcome to February, one month closer to Spring. For whatever reason this January felt like it was 115 days long and we are glad to be passed it. Maybe it was the seemingly non-stop rain or 5 shades of gray that everyday presented but we are hoping for sunshine in February with the days getting a little longer to dry things out.

We are still working on getting videos transferred over to the computer that we do all of our editing on. Work has been crazy busy lately and working with video is a time consuming process that there has not been a lot of. We are still at it though and hope to be able to ramp things up by the end of the month.
