@BMW X3 facelift launched in India
A nip here, a tuck there
A few nips and tucks are essential to keep looking young, and attractive. At least that is what the entertainment industry tells us. It’s the same with the auto industry as well, and fresh off the operating table is the BMW X3 facelift.
On the face, the SUV gets a tweaked kidney grille, fully adaptive LED headlamps, revised front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and a set of refreshed LED tail lights. On the inside, there’s now a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3in fully-digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, park assist function, and a surround sound system tuned by the experts at Harman Kardon.
Under the hood is a 2.0L four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 252bhp and 350Nm of torque. This is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2022 BMW X3 comes in two variants – 30i SportX Plus, and 30i M Sport. The former is priced at ₹59.90 lakh, and the latter at ₹65.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
@Microsoft Surface Pro 8 priced at Rs 1,04,499
What's under the Surface?
Slated to be available one day after Valentine’s day, the Surface Pro 8 and the Surface Pro 7+ come with a lot of promise. Microsoft claims the Surface Pro 8 is more than twice as fast as Pro 7, with 11th Gen Intel Core processors, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and built on the Intel Evo platform. The iconic kickstand and detachable keyboard with built-in Slim Pen storage and charging are all aboard and the winning formula hasn’t changed.
Now however the new Surface Pro 8 features the most technically advanced display ever built - a vibrant 13in PixelSense touchscreen that is virtually edge to edge. The display also features Dolby Vision and comes with Adaptive Color Technology and 120Hz display refresh rate for a more responsive touch. Microsoft has also included a 5MP front-facing camera, 10MP-4K rear-facing camera, Dolby Atmos sound, and dual far-field Studio Mics for better audio and video. What we are really excited about though are the two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which help create the ultimate productivity setup with multiple 4K monitors, an external hard drive, or a gaming setup with external GPU.
The new Surface Pro Signature Keyboard provides storage and charging capability for the new Surface Slim Pen 2, keeping it nearby and ready whenever inspiration strikes. The Surface Pro Signature Keyboard is available complimentary with pre-orders from select partners. The Surface Slim Pen 2 gives the most advanced digital pen experience on a Pro. The built-in haptic motor in Surface Slim Pen 2 gives the same feeling you get with pen on paper when writing or drawing.
It’s not always easy to tap on your smartwatch’s small screen to open apps or perform certain tasks. Garmin is making our lives easier by adding voice assistant support on its latest Venu 2 Plus smartwatch.
Unveiled at CES 2022, the Garmin Venu 2 Plus supports Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, and yes, even Samsung’s Bixby. You can take the help of the assistants to respond to notifications, control smart home devices, and even answers to your queries. Another interesting feature is the ability to make voice calls directly from the watch, so your phone can remain in your pockets.
The smartwatch is also good at tracking your workouts, besides monitoring your heart-rate, stress levels, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns, respiration, and menstrual cycles. A built-in tool called Health Snapshot generates a comprehensive report on your health, while the Body Battery Energy Monitor measures the body's energy throughout the day.
The 43mm Venu 2 Plus sports a 1.3in AMOLED (416x416 pixels) display, and is said to offer up to nine days of battery life. It is priced at ₹46,990, and is available in three colour options – graphite black, powder grey, and cream gold.
